Happy Halloween! The halls of the State Capitol were filled with colorful costumes and smiling faces Thursday as students from the State Capitol Daycare paraded through the building for their annual Halloween celebration. Staff from the WV Secretary of State's Office welcomed the children and handed out treats. Approximately 125 children, parents, and teachers participated in the festive tradition.

The state Auditor's job is to catch wrongdoing in state and local government. Confirming that their own office is under federal grand jury investigation is a HUGE deal.
The state Auditor has declined a request for records that represent federal subpoenas issued to that office or its personnel, saying the state office cannot release materials before a federal grand jury.

9 years ago, I made $80k as a super in WV (lowest then and since).
This year, I’ll make about the same as a high school CTE Director — with less stress — even as our scale has increased ~33% and I’m at a higher experience step.
We don’t pay school folks what other states do.
Are WV school admins underpaid?
West Virginia Ranks dead-last in median School Principal pay at roughly $80,650 per year.
