One of the MANY fantastic parts of this chat that really stands out to me is the gap between "seeing" a signal and doing something useful with it. Often many can identify the same setup.
The edge is testing for validity, managing the risk and then having the conviction to act.
How do professional investors actually use technical analysis?
Here’s a preview from our Founder and CIO @neilazous recent conversation on @TOT_podcast_ with @WaqarAsim10 .

AI can help a robot decide.
Hardware has to make it move.
That creates two investment lenses: the “Brains” and the “Body,” each with different paths to commercial revenue.

$HOID The investment opportunity in humanoid robotics is likely to be much broader than the finished machine. Chips, sensors, software, components and infrastructure all participate in the buildout. The value chain is where this theme gets particularly interesting. rareviewcapital.com/humanoid…
The robot gets attention. Who earns the revenue?
Look beyond manufacturers to chips, software and components. Not every supplier will benefit.

Rareview Capital filed to list the Rareview Humanoid Robotics ETF $HOID on Cboe BZX on August 31. It has not started trading, and it is entering a theme that already has 3 funds answering the same question 3 different ways 👇
$HOID will be actively managed, and its prospectus requires at least 80% of net assets in companies deriving at least 50% of revenue from humanoid robotics manufacturing or its critical enabling technology. 0.75% expense ratio.
$KOID: Invests in 58 companies at index weights. Allient $ALNT leads at 2.58%, Teradyne $TER is 3rd at 2.38% and Nvidia $NVDA is 10th at 2.24%. 0.69% expense ratio
$HUMN: Invests in 47 companies, actively managed. Ubtech Robotics leads at 5.07%, nearly double $KOID's top weight, with Tesla $TSLA 3rd at 4.16%
$BOTT: Invests in 42 companies at 0.35%, the cheapest of the 3. Rainbow Robotics leads at 5.38% and Teradyne $TER is 2nd at 5.08%
$HOID has not disclosed a single holding yet, because its 80% revenue test has not been run against a real portfolio. 3 existing funds already draw the line around "humanoid robotics company" in 3 different places. A 4th just filed to draw it again.

$BCOM “Coffee beats copper” predictions likely isn’t the optimal framing for most…a better path could be testing 60/30/10 against 60/40 and what that mix could look like going forward…
A strategic allocation gives commodities a defined portfolio role instead of treating them as a response to the latest forecast.
The conversation shifts from what may outperform next to how commodities may function alongside stocks and bonds.

$RSEE Really proud of what our team has built with $RSEE. The Morningstar 5-star rating is always nice to see, and so is the work being recognized. Looking forward to whats ahead.
The bigger point for advisors? Evaluating a rules-based tool that is going beyond just owning more stocks...to analyzing how much market risk a client really needs to take while keeping returns, fees and taxes in the conversation. @MorningstarInc

$BCOM 3 framing questions- Why own commodities, how much, and what are we trimming to make room?
I’d rather answer those key questions than spend a meeting guessing whether coffee or copper takes off next….
How should advisors incorporate commodities into client portfolios?
The Rareview Bloomberg Commodity Index ETF (BCOM) seeks to provide broad, passive exposure through one ETF.
Advisors can focus on the allocation’s size and portfolio role rather than forecasting which commodity may lead next.

$BCOM "Make commodities an allocation decision not a commodity prediction"...meaning, start with the allocation, not a commodity forecast. Use 60/40 as the baseline, then look at 60/30/10 with 10% in broad commodities instead of bonds. Compare diversification, volatility and drawdowns. If it improves the overall mix, that matters more than getting the next oil move right...

$BCOM This is where I think the commodity conversation gets more interesting. Not just inflation or the headline of the week. More about what job a commodity sleeve can do inside the portfolio when stocks and bonds are both being asked to carry a lot.

$BCOM The part I like here is the starting point: evidence first, not another portfolio slogan. Meaning- Did adding commodities actually change diversification and drawdown behavior when stocks and bonds struggled? That answer matters more than whether 60/30/10 sounds better…more to come
lnkd.in/ecXee7tz
When stocks and bonds respond to the same forces, 60/40 may provide less diversification than expected.
One potential evolution: 60% equities, 30% fixed income and 10% commodities.
The key advantage is what changed across return, risk and drawdowns.

60/40 has been the default forever with good reason. Going forward, a better question is whether 60/30/10 makes more sense for some portfolios. Meaning, trim bonds, carve out 10% for commodities, give the portfolio another sleeve that doesn’t have to live or die with stocks and bonds. Given macro environments and hyperscaler capex budgets, worth a real look.
The commodities question doesn’t have to start with predicting whether oil, gold or agriculture wins next.
Start with the portfolio:
What role should commodities play?
How much exposure makes sense?
Then, how should it be implemented?
Allocation first. Forecasting second.
