railforums.co.uk/threads/ava… Why do train companies such as @AvantiWestCoast and others behave this way? Can anyone do anything to get rogue train companies to behave?

Poor show by @northernassist and @AvantiWestCoast: railforums.co.uk/threads/mis… So much for slogans such as "Britain's train companies working together" or "putting customers at the heart of everything we do" @greensignallers @seatsixtyone @SRichardBowker @alexhornbyrail

lner.co.uk/support/revenue-p… "When you purchase a ticket and travel with LNER, you’re agreeing to a legal contract with us that’s set out in The National Rail Conditions of Travel" NRCoT 13.1.2 validates travel via an itinerary; you can't prosecute someone for that, @LNER @DavidHorne

An 'investigations and debt recovery manager', who claims to be 'familiar' with NRCoT, won't accept NRCoT 13.1.2 applies, and is spending taxpayers money threatening prosecution for passengers who travel in accordance with an itineraryn provided by an accredited retailer.

railforums.co.uk/threads/tax… How is this behaviour acceptable @AvantiWestCoast ? Will you as a company ever deal with the poor attitude of several members of your staff at Euston? The poor attitude of some staff at Euston is a long standing problem at Avanti

Is it really cheaper to book taxis for passengers on the last London to Hull connection from Doncaster, than to hold the @northernassist train a few more mins? Will this change under GBR, or are taxis baked in now? is this really the best deal for taxpayers? @alexhornbyrail

Should the staff at the @LNER lounge at Kings Cross be directing people for the 12:33 train on platform 7 before the train even arrived in the platform? This happened 5 mins ago, 40 mins prior to departure, as the inbound was rolling in Can this be right @DavidHorne ?

Awful customer service from @tfwrail, whose train is affected by very short notice engineering works: railforums.co.uk/threads/tfw… Hopefully TfW will see sense and confirm the passenger can depart earlier, to avoid a delay and enable them to arrive on time.

South West Railway @SW_Help have sunk to a new low: railforums.co.uk/threads/mg1… Threatening a passenger who was following an itinerary, and using a valid ticket routed Any Permitted via a Permitted route with prosecution. @seatsixtyone @railandroad @transportgovuk @transportco

If only there was an effective and knowledgeable rail regulator, ombudsman, passenger watchdog or other authority who could hold these disreputable out of control train companies to account? Sadly, there is absolutely no prospect of this.

The ticket should be re-routed 'Not via London' to fix the anomaly, but until then, it is routed 'Any Permitted' so journey planners will - correctly - issue itineraries via London. Itineraries must be honoured by train companies, whether they like it or not.
