Conspiracy theorists are always wrong.
Since we gutted USAID, the left hasn’t won a single presidential election in Latin America.
Billions in taxpayer cash were funding NGOs, “democracy” programs, and activist networks that conveniently always backed the same side. They called it aid but it was election interference.
Thank you @elonmusk for dragging this into the light. The grift is over.
I voted for Jeb Bush in the 2016 primary. He would have been a good one-term president knocked out by the chaos of 2020, but I have no clue who would be president today if this happened. Regardless, we should all mourn the version of American politics we lost in 2016.

The same people who insist that we need a politics laser-focused on appealing to the working class and income inequality also insist that Democrats should spend all our time talking about trans rights
It seems like the only reason people run as a DSA candidate is to capture retarded progressives and mount a strong primary challenge. If it works, they immediately disavow everything the DSA supports
We had a really unpopular position that most democratic elites privately despised when gay marriage was illegal in many states, but how did we fix that? Our candidates did not elevate that issue. They, in fact, lied about it!
Me: "Even if it was unpopular, are you saying the Democratic Party should not speak out against the president sending migrants who have committed no crimes to be tortured in a foreign gulag?"
@mattyglesias: "Yeah."
Me: "Just stay silent?"
Yglesias: "I think that sometimes, if you want to help people... you gotta win first."
Me: "They might be dead in three years time, by the time you win."
Despite all the arguments on this hellsite over the exact number of his Piker tweets, this was the part of my interview with Matthew Yglesias that really stood out to me. I was actually stunned by this response. Shouldn't politics also stand for something more than triangulation, polling and 4-D chess strategizing?

Hard to say what will happen in this election/environment, but the experiment of running Elizabeth Warren in Michigan is probably not going to last extremely long.
To be fair to Mehdi it’s totally reasonable to think Gaza is a top 2 foreign policy issue in modern American history if you’re an Islamist.

I'm as homophobic as they come, and I'm against this.
Outing people without consent is a very disgusting thing to do, it could cause traumatic harm in their personal lives, considering not all familes are supportive.
Please don't do this, @cenkuygur.

My greatest fear about marriage is that I'll be working long long days and she'll just be at home marinating her brain in this stuff

Leaked memo shows Republicans privately see Francesca Hong as "uniquely dangerous" in the general election & that “more moderate and establishment Democratic alternatives would likely produce lower base motivation and depressed turnout":

The response from republicans to this post is basically like a spouse that abuses you and then when you leave uses that as "proof" that you never loved them
I just cast my ballot for James Talarico.
As a second-generation Indian American, I am thoroughly disgusted by the xenophobia, racial resentment, and increasingly brazen attacks on my identity. My family has contributed to the American story through hard work, sacrifice, and an unwavering belief in the opportunities this nation promises. I am every bit as American as anyone else, and I will not tolerate being treated as a perpetual foreigner in the country I call home.
I implore every eligible Texan to get out and vote. This election is about the kind of state and country we are prepared to defend—and the principles we refuse to surrender.

This aligns neatly with my moral code. Husbands should never under any circumstances cheat on their wives. But single men should absolutely blow up marriages
According to recent polling, both sexes think it’s worse for a husband than a wife to have an affair – the opposite of the traditional double standard. stevestewartwilliams.com/p/d…
