What an inspiring day with Uganda’s young animators!
During the Kiroho UNDP: Monetising Animation townhall, I had the pleasure of engaging with young talented animators, hearing their journeys throughout the programme, and celebrating their incredible work. 💻🚀

I also had the chance to step into the animation world and try my hand at designing something myself! 💻
It was inspiring to see firsthand the creativity, dedication, and fresh ideas animators bring, reminding me just how much potential fuels Uganda’s animation ecosystem. ✨

At today’s 𝐊𝐢𝐫𝐨𝐡𝐨 𝐔𝐍𝐃𝐏: 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐳𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐀𝐧𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 session, animators are learning more than technical skills.
They are also gaining knowledge on workplace ethics, and the prevention of sexual exploitation & harassment from the @UNDPUganda team.

We recently hosted the inaugural screening of the docuseries "Light & Magic" at #AmericanCenterKampala. The event featured Ugandan animator @RayMalinga & was moderated by @DavidsonMugume as they discussed the story of @ILMVFX, the pioneering American visual effects studio that revolutionized modern cinema. Participants discussed the power of imagination & how U.S. creativity, exemplified by George Lucas & his team, can motivate Uganda’s future storytellers & innovators.

Just discovered @kundaandfriends on YouTube and all I have to say is that I'm very envious of the kids of today. Imagine having Amapiano and Afrobeats nursery rhymes to learn with.
In my day, na so so "If ya 'appee an' you know say Amen, AMEN!"😩
