This has nothing to do with anything unless you are curious. I drive the plug in hybrid Jeep Wrangler. Now, I haven't really charged it THAT often so I haven't been able to say here's what MPG it gets if you do. Based on what I see going on with gas prices (quickly rising) I decided to start keeping it charged. Today is day 1 of starting out at 100% battery level. We shall see how this goes.

On Memorial Day, @nicksortor was one of the first people I heard from that morning and one of the last people I heard from that afternoon. He took time out of his day to visit Alan’s grave, honor his sacrifice, and share that experience with those of us who couldn’t be there ourselves. Later that day, he reached out and asked if our family would like the Director of National Intelligence’s challenge coin that Director Gabbard left when she paid her respects. For those who don’t know, mementos left at gravesites in Arlington are typically preserved as part of the historical record. They are documented and carefully maintained, but they don’t usually make their way back to the families of the fallen. Without Nick, that coin likely would have become part of that collection. Instead, today it made its way home. It now sits beside the coins Alan collected throughout his life in the case that holds the flag that draped his coffin. That happened because he took the time to think about what that coin might mean to our family and cared enough to ask the question. Nick stepped up in a big way on Memorial Day. He is a true patriot, and our gratitude for what he did for our family is beyond words. ♥️🇺🇸♥️

There is a natural human reaction when attacked, and that is to think of the attacker as your opponent, attack back. Rogan, Musk, Tulsi, RFK Jr., Fetterman, the list goes on. Each made the mistake of thinking independently from the Democrat party line, and each got viciously attacked by Democrats as a result. This pushed each of them further right than anything we could have said to them. And the further right they were pushed, the worse the attacks became. Eventually, they understand the left is truly crazy and hates them for disagreeing.

One of the greatest political ads I've seen in a very long time. Down to earth. Clear willingness to work hard. Dichotomy between "them" and "us" is amazing... ...those who POSTURE, vs those who have to live with the consequences of their posturing 10/10 no notes.

President Trump perfectly plays the War Power Act with a letter to the Senate saying: "On Apr. 7 I ordered a ceasefire...There has been no exchange of fire since...The hostilities that began on Feb. 28 are terminated" He reset the clock on the War Powers Act. He then states he is keeping forces in the region in case they are needed reserving his right at Commander in Chief to use them as needed. He also said today he considers the War Powers Act unconstitutional but is complying with it to avoid a conflict over that. He is absolutely correct as the WPA has never been to SCOTUS and does significantly infringe on the President's Art. II powers. But until that is adjudicated it is best to play along with its requirements while not losing one bit of his freedom of maneuver as Commander in Chief. Brilliant!

I’m tired of the Senate’s evergreen excuse for inaction: “We don’t have 60 votes.” There are ways around the 60-vote cloture standard. It’s time to start using them. And stop disingenuously characterizing any refusal to do so as virtuous or conservative. Share if you agree.

Take a deep breath. Really deep. Fill your lungs. Now exhale. Hold your breath until your lungs are reedy to explode. Then repeat. Now imagine that your lungs get 5% smaller each time you do this. Now imagine you are standing in a stadium with 50,000 people watching you slowly die. You are getting tired but refuse to succumb. Refuse to even kneel. That’s how it feels to be a supporter of shipbuilding during this administration. The thrill and excitement of walking into the stadium for the first time and your issue taking center stage. Fits of joy at each major milestone. Then long periods of nothing. You stand on the pitches mound waiting for the team to tun out from the dugout. You wait for the umpire to walk out with the game ball. Waiting for the game to start. It never happens. Trump has done more for American shipbuilding than any President since Nixon. He uncovered the grounds. He turned on the lights. He set up the scoreboard. He paid the salaries. And he filled the stadium with fans eager to cheers. The Maritime Executive Order The White House Maritime Action Plan The reintroduction of the SHIPs for America Act Hegseth’s Arsenal of Freedom Tour New energy at MARAD in DOT Navy acquisition reform OMB, Labor, Treasury, Energy and Commerce ready to pitch in All the pieces of the puzzle are on the table ready to be assembled. And yet nothing is getting built. The problem is shipbuilding requires a monumental all of government approach. It’s not a Mavy problem or a Merchant Marine problem or a USCG problem or a Steel, or UN, or alliances or whatever It’s a truly all of government problem. All the players are ready but we have no manager calling a huddle and walking everyone out to the field. The outgoing secretary of the Navy John Phelan did a lot of good, but he never called that huddle. Will Hung Cao? He has the enthusiasm and passion and ability to lead the team. Problem is he has an enormous Navy to run. Hung Cao needs a manager, a pitching coach, a batting coach… a small cadre of guys who really understand shipbuilding. Not just Naval shipbuilding but the entire landscape of commercial, finance, trades, union, allies best practices, and all the levers of government available. Now is the time. It shouldn’t have to be the duty of @SECNAV to hold this much water but every other department tasked (except OMB) has stood their and watched as opportunity after opportunity sailed by. There is still enough excitement for shipbuilding to start the game but the pitcher is quickly running out of breaths. The game needs to start asap and @HungCao_VA has the last chance before the midterms to start the show.

Did this post trigger a staffer immune response so severe my phone kept ringing until 2:53 a.m.? Were there veiled threats to tank maritime legislation, strip NDAA provisions I care about, and slow-roll future maritime appointments for friends like @HungCao_VA? Is the Pope Catholic? I owed one staffer who reached out a serious favor, so I moved the post to subscribers only. They call it the Blob for a reason. She didn’t ask for it to be deleted. He definitely didn’t want it deleted. But the message from the powers that be was clear: leave it up, and there would be consequences. Who ordered the takedown? Nobody will say. I could have called out her former boss @SenatorCantwell until the cows came home and absolutely nothing would have happened. But name one mid-level staffer who’s built a fiefdom blocking literal life-saving appropriations at sea? All hell breaks loose, and rogue waves start crashing across the decks. Our elected officials don’t run the Senate. A handful of very powerful staffers do. And guess what? It’s not just the Senate. These staffers are embedded across the administration as political appointees too. That’s the price any new administration pays to get its appointees confirmed, federal judges included. That’s how the Blob reaches into all three branches and touches everything. The worst part? The best staffers get poached by K Street. What’s left behind is a small handful of true patriots (yes, some staffers are excellent), and a much larger group who either stayed behind because they love power or aren’t offered jobs anywhere else.

I'm going to ask everyone to leave @doll_elizabeth alone now; this has gone on long enough and I'm onto new research. Yes, she said something ugly about my disability, and yes, she is pretending that she didn't. And that's not okay. But she's a person who clearly cares about the work she's done at Braver Angels, and I think what you're seeing is someone who felt cornered and lashed out. That's a very human thing to do. The substance of my criticism of BA and IMIP stands on its own; none of it depends on what Elizabeth said about me, and none of it is refuted by piling on her. Thanks to @CynicalPublius and others for your passionate support; it's humbling.

I stand by what I said February last year “God put (@DataRepublican) here in this timeline for a reason.” Everything has come together across her life for this moment, to help lead and, and most importantly, inform the people. It’s not accident DR and @DataInterpretr crossed paths. It was set to happen when it did.

Officially credentialed Pentagon press corps as of today, alongside my interpreter @DataInterpretr. First Deaf journalist to hold the badge. Thank you @JoelValdezDOW for moving mountains to make this unique arrangement possible. Naturally, the legacy media is invited to congratulate the Department of War on their commitment to press corps inclusiveness. This wouldn't have been possible without you. Every $3 subscription and every engagement opened this door. Now I'm going to use it. Military institutional capture research starts today.

Let’s get my position on the Republican Party crystal clear. I’ve been a registered Republican since Bill Clinton turned the Oval Office into his own personal brothel. Now that Senate Majority John Thune refuses to protect election integrity, I am disgusted with my party. I will NEVER vote for a Democrat in my life, but the RINO elements destroying the Republican party are a disgrace. I am a devout follower of President Trump, and as a registered Independent will continue to vote with Republicans when they stand behind this great President and act like Republicans again. Democrats, the ragtag band of con artists and grifters that they are, manage to work together in lockstep, but getting Republicans to accomplish anything is like herding cats. It’s absolutely infuriating.

Dear Senate GOP, I registered as a Republican for the first time, 193 days ago. I was SO freaking excited to be a part of the MAGA movement. 193 days later I want my enthusiasm back, because you've done ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to deserve it. You're funding left-wing NGOs, blocking DOGE cuts, going on vacation, not codifying Trump's executive orders, not passing the SAVE Act. The Democrats would torch literally EVER SINGLE RULE and destroy every norm and precedent to push through their agenda. They don't care about decorum. They don't care about procedure. They care about WINNING. What do YOU actually care about, GOP? You were given EVERYTHING YOU COULD HAVE POSSIBLY WANTED. The White House. The Senate. The House. A president willing to fight. A voting public that was hungry for REAL CHANGE... ...AND YOU ARE FUCKING BLOWING IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Senate's institutional hollowness was exposed when Thune and Schumer pushed through a 3 AM vote to strip ICE funding with only 5 senators present. I no longer take seriously any appeals to procedure or tradition. The rules are engineered to serve K Street, preserve lawmakers' comfort, and sideline the public they claim to represent.
