The threat from Russia is real. Our ability to protect the our country 🇬🇧 has to real. War readiness needs to be taken seriously. A clear path to 3% of GDP by 2030 needs to be real. Exclusive: Putin sends fishing trawlers to spy on Britain telegraph.co.uk/news/2026/10…

If you want peace plan for war. Without a clear path to 3% of GDP by 2030 on defence spending we will be left vulnerable as a nation. Kemi Badenoch has set out a clear path to achieve this and protect the nation 🇬🇧 Here are my views in today’s Daily Express

135 serious organised crime groups are active in Scotland. 62 are involved in drugs, 50 have international links and seven involve children and young people. These are sophisticated criminal networks operating across Scotland, the wider UK and internationally. The involvement of children and young people is particularly disturbing. Police Scotland, working with the National Crime Agency and other UK law enforcement agencies, must have the resources, powers and technology needed to track down, disrupt and dismantle these gangs. We need to go after the drug traffickers, the money launderers and those who recruit and exploit young people. Organised crime doesn't respect borders. Neither can our response. news.stv.tv/scotland/more-th…

The threat is real. Are we ready? @Telegraph reports Russian vessels apparently mapping vital undersea cables, including north of Scotland. Our banks, hospitals and communications depend on them. Putin is probing our defences. We must strengthen the Royal Navy and invest in the surveillance, ships and technology to protect these cables. We cannot wait until they are cut to discover we weren’t ready. telegraph.co.uk/news/2026/10…

Rosebank will give jobs, security and much needed tax revenue. The question is what happens in the real world if Rosebank is rejected? 1/3
Every barrel of oil the UK exports to Europe is one less barrel they would buy from Russia. Revenue. Security. Common sense. Approve Rosebank now.

178 domestic abuse incidents recorded every day in Scotland. More than 65,000 in a year. Women deserve protection, not platitudes. That means properly funding the police, tightening bail laws and ensuring abusers face real consequences. SNP ministers have serious questions to answer about why so many women are still living in fear. dailyrecord.co.uk/news/scott…

This is completely mad. What kind of perverse thinking leads Labour to conclude that Jackdaw can go ahead but Rosebank should be refused? Britain will continue to need oil and gas for decades. Labour admits that. So why would we turn our backs on our own resources, sacrifice Scottish jobs and investment, and become more dependent on imports? And where is the environmental sense in importing oil from overseas when we could produce it here, subject to our own environmental standards? This is a question of jobs, energy security, economic common sense and the national interest. thetimes.com/uk/politics/art…

You couldn't make this stuff up. The SNP now wants to pay benefits to people who haven't even applied for them. Their measure of success is getting more people onto benefits. Ours is getting more people into work. The SNP champions dependency. Conservatives champion work, aspiration and self-reliance. A welfare system should be a safety net, not a way of life. Only the Conservatives will get Scotland working again. thetimes.com/uk/scotland/art…

If John Swinney and the SNP cannot make up their minds on something as fundamental to Scotland’s national interest as North Sea oil and gas, how can they be trusted to make decisions on anything else? Their former First Ministers oppose it. Their current First Minister sits on the fence, terrified of making a decision. Scottish jobs, energy security and billions of pounds of investment are at stake. Yet Swinney dithers. A party that cannot decide what it believes cannot be trusted to govern. thetimes.com/uk/scotland/art…

Completely mad. We are happy to import oil from Russia, but not allowed to take it out of our own North Sea.
Miatta Fahnbulleh asked if she will approve Rosebank oil drilling. “Jackdaw is gas predominately used in the UK market. Rosebank is oil predominately sent abroad. “I’ll look at the application. “We have got to get to net zero.”

A grotesque decision. My heart goes out to Steven Donaldson’s family, who have to go through this all over again as Tasmin Glass is granted release after being recalled to prison. Ten years should mean ten years. Victims’ families should not have to fight repeatedly to keep their loved one’s killer behind bars. Dishonest sentencing is an insult to justice.
