In reference to point number 4:
Kirk Herbstreit- “throw that in the trash. I never want to see that again. I don’t like getting down here and taking the ball out of 6’s hands.”
I have rewatched the game from last night. Would love to hear your thoughts. Mine are simple:
1. Texas could not have given this team more opportunities to win the game. Turnovers, dropped passes, penalties, onside kick, etc.
2. If the offense even plays a C- game first half, the final score is not close. It’s frustrating.
3. Defense still missed too many tackles. Can’t give that offense 30+ points. Just can’t. Lost leverage quite a few times last night.
4. If I see another direct snap to the RB, I may lose my mind. Between that and the constant 1st down runs up the middle, it’s too vanilla and it’s not working. How about running outside the numbers, WR screens, etc. none of that was shown.
5. Coaching in game management is just not good. Bad timeout usage, bad decision making and it’s been a struggle all year. It can’t keep happening.
Pete you do whatever you need to get this man to Oxford.

You could make a compelling case for any of these teams to be in any order and I don’t know that I could refute any of it.
I’ve never seen the SEC cannibalize itself like this before.
I think what a lot of people are overlooking is Ole Miss came away with a grand total of ZERO POINTS off of Arch Manning interceptions.

4 of 5 at home. Gotta think you’d have to win out to make the playoff.
We had our opportunities. Had the ball on 2 separate occasions tied at 24 and just couldn’t do anything with it.
Texas has figured it out. Don’t let Arch Manning make anymore decisions. He either hands it off or he keeps it.
That’s just bad coaching there. You keep the timeout, take the penalty and punt.
Texas now can all but end this with about 20 yards to field goal range.
