Just listened to Hannah Spencer's victory speech following yesterday's by election. It seems that socialism isn't dead. It does appear however, to have changed colour. Well done Hannah and the people of Gorton and Denton. youtube.com/watch?v=UJFVw_p6…

I’m European. Apparently my life is bad. In reality, I have:
Vaccines.
Clean tap water.
Public transport.
Enforceable rights.
Food safety as a baseline.
Healthcare that doesn’t lead to bankruptcy.
And I don’t need to carry a concealed weapon to walk my dogs.
I don't give a flamin' damn whether Maccabi fans or Jewish or not. There's a sizeable element amongst them who are violent thugs intent on inciting racism. We don't want them in our football stadiums or on our streets
Public service announcement. The NHS doesn't need league tables. Providing quality healthcare has never been a competitive sport

The House of Lords gives peers £342 a day just for clocking on. A 10-hour shift as a resident doctor pays just £175.
.@UKLabour need to tax the rich and close down loopholes that enable corporations to evade the tax they should be paying. There is no good moral or financial argument for making disabled and vulnerable people pay the price to protect the wealth of the super rich.

Just watching Robert Jenrick's interview for Kemi Badenoch's job on @bbclaurak Not sure whether, even the Tories want someone with that big an ego
Was part of an interesting conversation at the gym this morning. Apparently (alcoholic content aside) you can have three rums (or vodka) and pepsi max for the same calories as a glass of wine. Now there's a Saturday night challenge if ever I saw one.
Putting Streeting and Milburn in charge of the NHS is a clear indication by @UKLabour that the private sector is being enabled to pick off all the elements of you healthcare that they can convert into profit. It gives a whole new meaning to a party on the 'side of business'.
Let's be honest. Working a stressful job for low pay is far more likely to be a cause of poor mental health than a cure. Rather than cutting benefits, let's make employers improve working conditions and pay people properly..... and we could even them them pay their taxes!
"There's an over-diagnosis [of mental heath problems]"
Heath Secretary Wes Streeting says "there are too many people being written off" from work with mental health issues and "too many people aren't getting the support they need"

Well said Chris McDonald. As if being a victim of child sexual abuse hasn't been devastating enough. Local Conservative activists using that misery to try and score cheap points against their political rivals is just doubling down on that abuse. Survivors deserve so much better
Men on @bbclaurak, weaponising the grooming gangs story to attack other men. Girls were abused horrifically, let down by the system and now they're being abused again by men for political gain. Patriarchy is alive and kicking and being aired on our Sunday. morning tv!
Have spent flamin' ages today crafting this box of hand made crackers with their hand made contents to send off to family. Only to flamin' find that you can't flamin' send hand made crackers in the flamin' post.
Apparently they're classed as flamin' incendiary devices!
Spent a wintry afternoon watching Joy, the film about how IVF and the people who worked so hard o to make sure it happened became the wonder of science that helps create families. And I flamin' cried... buckets netflix.com/gb/title/8170171…
