Today at 3pm, the government tested its new #emergencyalert system.
Although today's alert was only a test, having an emergency kit ready could come in useful if you receive a real alert in the future. Here are a few essential items to have ready. ⬇️
ALT What to pack in your emergency kit. Medication and a first aid kit. Food and water. Phone and portable charger. Emergency contact numbers. Baby and pet supplies (if needed)

At 3pm on Sunday 23 April, a test message will sound on every phone in the UK.
This new alert system will be used to warn people if there’s a life-threatening emergency nearby.
