It was the last session of the May Beginners last week. Sad we won't see each other for a while, but left on a high of some brilliant park bench scenes. Until next time! :)

This is a great reminder for when you are doing long-form. Are you going to chose to make this scene an average day in this character's life (be that in a diner or on board a spaceship), or is it going to be the tilt, where something out of the ordinary happens...#WednesdayWisdom
Tutor Carla is in this show which has two more days to run at the Corpus Playroom this week. Come along and see a unique use of improv. :)
Lovely review of Occupational Hazards on @cambridge105 this morning from Sarah Colwell who says it's "very funny indeed, very clever" and "absolutely brilliant". There are two more shows @adctheatre @corpusplayroom adctheatre.com/whats-on/play… - come!

This quote is from the grandmother of improv, Violin Spolin. It articulates that point when two or more people are so in sync that no one knows who the leader/initiator is, and yet offers are still being made. #WednesdayWisdom
Picture from our session last week on the #StorySpine, a really simple way of thinking about scene and show structure.
Today we played one of my favourite improv games, 'Little Door', where we discover what a house is like based on its door. It reminded me of the joyous #DinkyDoors around #Cambridge - I wonder what the houses inside these are like?
Great article in @guardian about how #improv can help with social anxiety. It really can build confidence, especially with the right teacher. We aim to create a similar joyful and fearless atmosphere in our Red Cape classes. :) bit.ly/2ZD2IPp

We all have #improv shows which we think are better than others. And we can spend a long time talking about what we feel didn't work. It's always worth remembering that the audience don't see what you see, and have probably seen something they really enjoyed. #WednesdayWisdom
In yesterday's session, the team had great fun playing Master/Servant scenes and learning what makes a good scene partner.
Yesterday we were playing with #status. Lots of fun (the concern in the picture is in character!) Not pictured is Wilson's dog, which went from low to high status by jumping on the sofa during one scene...

Lots can be said about impro/v, but really, it comes down to inspiring your partner/team, in whatever way that is. :) #WednesdayWisdom
