Throwback Thursday! It’s vital that we help amplify the voices of the most marginalized – yet resilient – in our communities. These stories have the power to remind people of our shared #humanity. This past year we did this through #blogs and #storytelling projects!

🔴We read in a Sudanese newspaper that #Ugandan #LGBTIQ+ #refugees from #Kenya are at risk of deportation. We have contacted @UNHCR_Kenya several times for answers. Nobody talks. This behavior is shameful. @Fathiaabdalla @RaoufMazou @FilippoGrandi @refugeeaffairs @EUinKenya

#LGBTIQ+ people face severe violence and discrimination in #Uganda. They must not be repatriated. We appeal to people who can intervene and clarify the situation quickly. Thank you !

I am very sorry that the @UNHCR_Kenya staff in #Nairobi still do not provide information on the #resettlement of #LGBTI+ people from the #Kakuma camp. The idea is that there is too much superficiality in the protection of vulnerable people.@EUinKenya @FilippoGrandi @Fathiaabdalla

GBV which is an expression of gender inequality & toxic masculinity is another pandemic that exists in all societies more so sexual minorities and sex workers at varying degrees of prevalence & severity. It requires the same effort & attention that have been given to COVID-19
