You got for 2 there. 3 yards away from a win instead of 25 yards away in OT.

When Kansans needed more housing at affordable prices, we delivered the biggest upgrade of federal housing laws in a generation. I will always stand tall for Kansas.

I’m proud to have advocated for and voted for the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act—the most comprehensive federal housing legislation in 30 years. The bipartisan law cuts red tape, streamlines bureaucracy, improves programs, and strengthens access to credit to help make housing more affordable and available. There’s more work to do, but we’re getting things done for Kansas housing.

Everywhere I travel across Kansas’ 2nd Congressional District, Kansans tell me the same thing: we need more modern housing at prices families can afford. From Kansas City and Topeka to Southeast Kansas, the Flint Hills, and communities around Fort Leavenworth and Fort Riley, housing is a critical issue. That’s why I proudly supported the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act, the most comprehensive federal housing legislation in 30 years. It cuts red tape and streamlines programs to help communities build more housing. We don’t need more government programs—we need to make the ones we have work better.

I voted for more tax relief for Kansas families through the Working Families Tax Cuts Act: - No tax on overtime - New senior deduction - No tax on tips - Bigger standard deduction - Expanded childcare credit For working Kansans, that means an average annual savings of $2,400 - $3,400 across counties in our Second Congressional District. When the cost of living is high, keeping more of your hard-earned money matter.

Others may be eager to take credit, but no doubt about it, this latest credit outlook upgrade comes after Legislative Republicans took the reins of the budget process and charted a more responsible and sustainable path forward. See my full statement below:

Since 2020, the DLCC has gone 9–25 in the #ksleg races it targeted. That’s a 26.5% winning percentage. The DLCC keeps pouring national money into Kansas. Kansas voters keep handing them losses. A tale as old as time..

These are skilled American workers supporting their families and our local economy. I encourage the administration to pursue a fair resolution that protects American businesses without putting American jobs at risk. #ksleg

I share President Trump’s goal of putting American workers first and ensuring American companies are treated fairly abroad. But we must also recognize that Bombardier’s U.S. headquarters is in Southwest Wichita, where it employs more than 1,200 people. #ksleg

Kansas is on strong financial footing thanks to the responsible budgeting of Legislative Republicans. There's more to do, and we're ready to keep building on that momentum. Read our full statement below:

Frustration is an understatement. This is an outrage. The Legislature put the funding in place and enacted clear limits on the I/DD waitlist into law. Instead of meeting those requirements, the waitlist has surged to more than 5,300 Kansans while millions of dollars intended to provide services were redirected elsewhere. These are not numbers on a spreadsheet. These are Kansans who are struggling and families who have already spent years waiting for help. January can’t come soon enough. We need competent leadership to get us back on the right track. kansasreflector.com/2026/08/…

Every Kansas family deserves a place to call home. The 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act, which has now been enacted into law, helps make affordable housing more attainable by strengthening community banks, expanding local lending, and cutting unnecessary red tape. More affordable homes. Stronger communities. Better futures for Kansans.

The Legislature put money on the table to get Kansans with intellectual and developmental disabilities off the waitlist. Instead, the waitlist grew while the Kelly Administration used millions in one-time waiver funding to plug holes elsewhere. This bureaucratic shell game was played with dollars meant to help some of our most vulnerable Kansans. Families who have waited years for services deserve answers. We intend to get them.
