It is with great sadness that we have learnt of the passing of Sean Burns, Administrator of Tristan da Cunha.
Sean served as Administrator of both Ascension Island and Tristan da Cunha on multiple occasions
Our thoughts are with his family and friends.

Some island men are helping a young family put their roof on their new house. It will be a 2 day job & no one gets paid in money..They will get thanked in lovely food & beverages, and with the knowledge you know that person will always give you a hand. #community #tristandacunha

Welcome home to passengers disembarking the MV Lance this morning. Vital replacement C-19 booster jabs also on board & now safely on dry land. And this is the unique way it gets from ship to shore when you live on the 🌍 most remote inhabited island. @FCDOGovUK @NHSEnglandMedia

Spring is definitely on its way on Tristan. We’ve had a number of fishing days over the past ten days and the number of calves and lambs is on the increase. A sperm whale was also spotted off the settlement yesterday. A reminder of how much we rely on our surrounding environment.

Day 9 #TristanMapping - wet ‘n’ windy. Collected samples to support melt inclusions studies 🙌 @davidmpyle. @Nautical_Neil & I set up our new survey site at Wash Gulch in horizontal rain…this one looks fascinating - Keep following folks! Only 12 days left and lots to do!

Tristan’s thatched museum was open to visitors this morning. An opportunity to learn how houses were once built by Tristanians before the 1961 volcanic eruption. One small but significant part of the island’s history. @KellyGrTDC @TristanJamesGl2 @ChrisCarnegy @FCDOGovUK
