An old friend of mine, his dad is worth over $100 million.
Built it buying distressed land in the 80s and 90s, then developing apartments in what later became boom suburbs.
He’s in his 80s now. Young wife, waterfront mansions, yacht worth over $10 million, 100’s of investment properties.
His son (guy I know) is still a manager at a small business. Leaves at 5:30am, gets home after 7 some nights, barely sees his kids, still grinding a mortgage.
Growing up, the dad used the kids and other family to get loans if he was short on capital, false payslips, dodgy documents, kickbacks to bank managers and real estate agents to get distressed assets below market rate.
The kids helped him raise capital for the deals. When the assets later exploded in value 20 years later, he closed the business, sold off the contracts, and pushed the kids into normal jobs when he retired.
When my mate asked why he didn’t get more of a share or a chance to take over the company, his dad said:
“You’ll have to wait until I die. I don’t trust any of you with this much money. I helped you get a house. The rest you’ll inherit when I’m gone.”
Some old wealthy guys build something and hand the next generation a real shot to make it bigger.
Others treat their kids like temporary labour or capital sources, then keep everything to themselves until they die.
I can’t understand why so many boomers and old wealthy people do this to their kids.
Such a sad existence.
All I want to do is be successful to help my own family.
Nothing else matters.
People who hoard wealth until death have no soul.

This game was never perfect. What made it fun in the past was the fact people played the game in the way they saw football.
Right now, everyone is looking for the most meta things to spam them over and over again, and regardless of how many patches we get, something will be more effective and it will be spammed. This is a problem in general in the gaming community.
What EA can do? They can bring diversity at a level where people that want to have fun can survive. Right now, the difference between the main meta and fun is quite big.
1. We should have attacking AI for people that want to play possession style of football. Right now, the AI do just get in behind runs, which favour the counter attack style of football.
2. We need players ID. E-football did a great job at this.
3. We need Evolutions & SBCs that are aligned with cheap meta. These evolutions must NOT BE better than the expensive players on the market, and the most meta golds must be banned from entering evolutions so we don't end up switching from Carreras gold to Carreras evo. Diversity is important.

Good day, Mr President.
I congratulate you on spending a night in one of Nigeria’s states outside Lagos and Abuja. I hope you enjoyed the warmth, hospitality, and delicious cuisine of Akwa Ibom, which I am sure is even better than those of the destinations where you have spent over 260 days outside Nigeria since coming into office.
I sincerely hope this visit will inspire you to travel to the remaining 33 states of the federation, spend time with the people and, more importantly, explain what your administration has done with the ₦15.8 trillion saved from the removal of fuel subsidy, the over $100 billion you have borrowed, the increased revenues accruing to the government from taxing Nigerians, and the additional government revenues which your administration celebrated last year as having surpassed its target.
Nigerians deserve to know how many that were pulled out of poverty within this period, how many out-of-school children were returned to school, and how many functional primary healthcare centres you have built. They also deserve to know how much electricity supply has improved, especially given your promise that if you do not fix power, Nigerians should not vote for you. They deserve an explanation of how you have secured the country, which still ranks among the most terrorised countries in the world.
Mr President, Nigerians deserve answers. They deserve to know what has been done with the resources entrusted to your government.
The New Nigeria we want to build will be based on accountability, transparency, and the physical, measurable impact of our public resources on the lives of citizens.

I’ll never forget the day a man tried to kill me while I was livestreaming in Rhode Island.
I was coffinboarding along the Blackstone River when I encountered a man who began threatening my life. He told me, “Your ass is canal water,” and “You’re already dead.” He repeatedly demanded that I turn off my camera so he could kill me and throw my body into the canal.
I genuinely believed I was going to die that day. I ended up escaping approximately six miles straight to get away from him. Eventually, I made it back to my car, drove out of Rhode Island, and haven’t returned to the state since.
What makes this story even more disturbing is that under two months earlier, another man had been found dead in the river at the exact same location where this man threatened to kill me and throw my body. Detectives are still investigating that man’s death, trying to determine exactly what happened to him. I was recently on the Rhode Island Channel 10 news for this.
I don’t know whether the two incidents are connected, and I’m not claiming they are. But knowing someone had been found dead in the same place where my life was threatened is something I’ll never forget.
I’m incredibly grateful that I managed to escape that day, because there’s a very real possibility I wouldn’t be here telling this story if I hadn’t.
