As the King's US tour continues to earn glowing reviews, it was his mother who saved another tour a generation earlier from disaster by her sheer enjoyment. Thanks to @pattmlatimes and Andrew Morton ("Diana") for this fond look back. podcasts.apple.com/us/podcas…
I am profoundly saddened by the loss of Simon Winchester, such a dear friend. There will always be more stories to tell, and we will hear him tell them in our hearts
RIP Paddy Higson, “mother of Scottish film” for good reason. I hope to bring her monumental contribution into my conversation tonight with @bonsuman on @TimesRadio
If it’s Friday, the vice president must be offending somebody somewhere. I expect we’ll talk about this on another of my occasional visits with @bonsuman on @TimesRadio tonight at midnight
Once more unto the breach as @bonsuman has invited me to be his midnight friend on @TimesRadio. Quite likely we’ll shed a tear for the vice president who came to Munich looking for love and lost it when he opened his mouth.

A better way both for listeners and producers’ careers was the road not taken which I advocated at parting and before of combining 5Live overnight with @bbcworldservice output. Salute to the first show on any BBC network to truly follow the sun. What’s old is new again.

Roughly 30 years and millions of happy listeners later, those who argued that @tweetallnight (Up All Night) was a waste of money finally have their way. My sympathy to those in @bbc5live management forced into this shotgun marriage and to all ex-colleagues losing jobs.

All things considered, I lament. As a constituency MP he was kind, and approachable. Nothing would have been the same without him.
Getting set for a midnight outing with delightful @bonsuman on @TimesRadio. Much interest in the former president’s new wingbat sorry wingman
Midnight in the UK comes soon, hence the mice may play and another of my occasional outings on @TimesRadio, tonight with Darryl Morris
Steve had both intelligence and humanity, a remarkably rare combination in broadcasters. His MBE shows how much we all thought of him

All my sympathy to the family of the late great Brian O’Donovan of WGBH and the New England Patriots. Beyond his impeccable musical contacts in the Celtic diaspora and in the respective old countries, Brian was as kind and generous a human being as we can be. We’ll all miss him.
I forgot! Having a fine time with @bonsuman on @TimesRadio
Stormy Mayo of the Center for Coastal Studies, featured in The Song of the Right Whale podcast, tells the Boston Globe today that right whales are lingering longer in Cape Cod Bay because of a shortage of the tiny copapods they feed on further north. bostonglobe.com/2023/04/06/s…
Huge congratulations to @ggatehouse on winning Best Podcast in the Broadcasting Press Guild Awards for The Coming Storm. I was hooked long ago, and it is truly awesome.
Looking forward to midnight GMT in the company of @_Reya on @TimesRadio when we’ll do our bit to discern the UK gov’s newly announced/updated/revisited migration policy
