βI donβt care if heβs the Chair of the Defence Select Committeeβ
A churlish and ill-tempered outing from Wes Streeting at the Despatch Box as he undermines Tan Dhesi and the Labour-chaired Defence Select Committee that holds the Defence Secretary to account.
This is entirely the wrong tone to adopt.

God, the tone-deaf news in Britain just doesn't get it.

This is astounding. The government's own figures show working-age welfare will go up by Β£60 BILLION by 2030, yet the Treasury has to rush out and correct the Chancellor to say there is no timetable for cutting the benefits bill. Looks like foot in mouth syndrome is spreading.
John Healey couldn't even find Β£10 billion to get defence spending to 3% of GDP - the thing he quit over.
Don't let anyone tell you this was a 'do no harm budget'. In doing so little, Labour have harmed our economic security and they've harmed our national security.
Contraflow on the A41 flyover from Friday 30 October β οΈ
As part of refurbishment works on the A41 Brent Cross Flyover, we will carry out essential safety works that will affect traffic and road space in the area.
A contraflow system will begin on the A41 flyover on Friday 30 October 2026. Traffic will continue to run in both directions, but with reduced road space.

"We have a tax system that is a mess. It is far more complex than it should be.
That is because, Budget after Budget, chancellors make seemingly small tweaks that lack principle and donβt systematically move us to a better place."

Suspended Labour MPs should not be allowed to sit on the Government benches.
Thank you for coming to my Ted talk.
We've not scored a well-worked goal for ages. In the last four games, we've scored one own goal (Utd), one keeper howler (Iwobi vs Hull), and one moment of individual brilliance (Bobb vs Coventry).
We created, by my count, 7 good chances in this game, and we couldn't score a single one. Four good chances in the first half were missed (Robinson, Tete, Andersen, and Berge) and three in the second half (Muniz, Iwobi, Garcia). Much like Southampton last year, we did the hard bit but couldn't get something in the something column.
Andersen is virtually unselectable now. Nketiah should not be beating him to the ball, and to say nothing of the other howler he made in the second half with the ball going through his feet, let off by an awful finish from the Palace attacker. Robinson and Muniz are not the players they were in 2023-24, and whilst Muniz was OK in the first half (he didn't get a lot of service, with the fewest touches on the field in the first half), his second half was woeful. Garcia was also shockingly poor with an inability to play in anything resembling a striker's position, and he couldn't take the chance he did get either.
Special mention, however, for the woeful Antonee Robinson. An awful, awful performance and must surely be looking over his shoulder at Sessegnon. Luckily (for Robinson) Sess still has one game to go on his suspension, but I'd be seriously considering making the change.
Wins against Hull and Coventry have papered over cracks, I felt as much after Hull (and said so, but got pelted). #ffc #fulhamfc #coyw
