There is a real problem with Mary Whitehouse bans like this.
1. Deeply tender people who have never watched pornography assume it's all sadistic and twisted, and that only absolute sickos would watch it.
2. These people moralise loudly in Parliament. They think evil men are into BDSM when it's actually more often women who are.
3. Parliamentarians who actually have watched pornography (76% of men, 53% of women) do not say what they think lest they become known as 'the porn mp'.
4. A majority of adults go without representation.
5. Bog standard face sitting or mild hand to throat stuff is banned through misunderstanding, moralising, and embarassment.
But this is all academic. Since the porn laws came in, no one watches pornography from UK IP addresses anymore, so these further restrictions are meaningless.

As any fule know, it's getting on for double the price to rent a flat in Camden versus outer London boroughs like Croydon, Sutton, Hillingdon, Havering, or Bexley. Does this mean there's more demand for housing in Camden? Who can say.

Labour have now ruled out real welfare reform - that's terrible for the country - but ALSO bad in the long term for the families parked on benefits.

๐ Margaret Thatcher being entirely herself and being entirely The Iron Lady in a full 'I want my tax back' performance.
๐ As told by @labour_history on the 1996 Budget.
Ken Clarke delivered his final Budget in November 1996 and it would turn out to be the last time anything stronger than water sat beside a Chancellor at the despatch box.

Labour left us with record youth unemployment in 2010.
The Tories then cut NEETs by half a million (!) in office.
Yet, just after two years of Starmer and we're back above a million. So check the ONS figures next time before you give me a history lesson.
Replying to @lukerobertblack @KemiBadenoch
Funny how all you Tory loving hypocrites come out now but when in power you had no answer for the NEETs in the country and didnโt care about them for 14 years!

Bridget, telling lies is a breach of the Ministerial Code.
It's well known from your time as Education Secretary (before your demotion!) that you struggle with the truth.
As the then junior minister responsible for financial services regulation, I was not even remotely a 'co-author' of the mini budget. I did not see it until the night before.
Iโm flattered that my decades of real-world business experience outside Westminster trigger so many Labour MPs. Itโll be useful when the next Conservative government has to clean up your mess!

As the prophecy foretold
โI donโt care if heโs the Chair of the Defence Select Committeeโ
A churlish and ill-tempered outing from Wes Streeting at the Despatch Box as he undermines Tan Dhesi and the Labour-chaired Defence Select Committee that holds the Defence Secretary to account.
This is entirely the wrong tone to adopt.
