Ricks Falcon Review

GAMEDAY FOR @AF_Football vs UConn Ok....breathe deep. I'm at home from the game as my wife had an ankle procedure done, I've got the MW+ to watch and The Varsity App to listen to Jim Arthur all ready to go. Thanks for the prayers out there for my wife. Here are my thoughts for today's game and what I hope to see: -Diesels be Diesels! On offense control the line of scrimmage no matter who is QB. UConn has done well defending the rush but has not played our type of rushing attack. -Get to the edge and let the RB/TB make some yards. Let them be a focal point. Do not depend on the FB dive or QB carry 50 times this game. IF AND when the FB carries average 4.5ypc. -Do something I have seldom seen from Coach TC or offensive coordinator MT: Let a young QB stil run the playbook that he has been practicing since week one. Let him make decisions in the run game and (as with all our QB's) dadgumit use the 8-12yrd pass early and effectively. Make the LB's guess "What next?" -Defense must pressure the QB -Defense must contain the QB after pressure flushes him out. -DO NOT let UConn have more than one "over the top" big play for a TD in this game. They are a very good and explosive team throwing the ball and will go over the top. -Lastly, make UConn beat us, not see ourselves self-destruct like last week and beat ourselves. Take care of the ball and no penalties or at least no stupid penalties that take away big gains or making a new set of 1st downs. GO FALCONS -Rick'77

While NM had 8 out of the top 14 MW men's cross country runners, @AF_TFXC men had 5 of the remaining 6 spots. GO FALCONS -Rick'77 @RicksFalconRev

KNOW OUR OPPONENTS @AF_Football 5-2 kicks off vs UCONN 4-3, while Army 5-2 has a late night battle vs Memphis 6-2. Can SJSU surprise NM in an otherwise quiet MW slate and does Navy have any hope vs ND? GO @AF_Falcons -Rick'77 @RicksFalconRev

Good showing by @AF_TFXC women's cross country GO FALCONS -Rick'77

Can't wait for tipoff Monday 5pm MT on ESPN+ GO @AF_Falcons -Rick'77 @RicksFalconRev

A very good review by of all places the Scarlet Standard, a UNLV fan affiliate that covers UNLV and MW sports (and does a good job!). Nice overview of 'knowing without knowing' of what our Air Force Men's Basketball @AF_MBB team will be like under new head coach Crispin and staff as they tipoff Monday night at Wright State. This is a must read for @AF_Football fans..@PSeanU1 at @MWCConnection does an excellent job diving into the quarterback issues surrounding this weekend and what history tells us. Seldom in our past have young quarterbacks started but if they have they have shown the propensity for success. Shout out to Sean for highlighting an old post of mine from early this summer from "Remember Our History" talking about quarterbacks. Thanks Sean. GO @AF_Falcons -Rick'77 @RicksFalconRev
