10 years ago, I was engaged & fresh out of college with no job. Married my wife in Vegas for $200 and she said she didnโ€™t care how the wedding was now when weโ€™re coming up, but made me promise her our 10 year anniversary weโ€™d get remarried in Paris. Today I kept that promise ๐Ÿซฑ๐Ÿฝโ€๐Ÿซฒ๐Ÿพ

Saw "You Can See Everything" last night. Most people are convinced Holmes is a master manipulator, and maybe she is, but after watching the "Who's on First" scene I wonder if she simply doesn't have much going on upstairs/ lacks common sense. She also seemed to read off a sheet when describing to Nathan Fielder what "the device can do." Shouldn't she know that by heart? The documentary had me questioning the role of all the various "handlers" in her life as we seem to witness with Billy, but at the same time, I was aware that everyone in the documentary, including the audience, was being manipulated while also playing the role of the manipulator. Very very interesting look at the things humans are capable of.

elon popping the AI bubble after front running the Anthropic and OpenAI IPO is like watching an episode of billions and succession lol
Replying to @chamath
Pretty much. As of the past few weeks, debt markets have almost entirely shut off access to money for any company that doesnโ€™t have substantial revenue independent of AI data centers. SpaceX closed $40B of debt for GPUs, but weโ€™re investment grade and have Starlink & launch revenue. That means the 200+ neoclouds are going to see guppy-level death and consolidation. Some will make it through, but not many.

To expand on this, stock price actually does not matter to CEOs as much as people think, especially ones who have large cash balances, high profit margins or huge LOC. As a forward-thinking leader, you have already planned 5 years in advance so temporarily crashing your stock price today to spite other competitors would simply be a strategic play.
musk hates sam altman more than he likes spacex. thereโ€™s no way openai or anthropic for that matter, can ipo if the market crashes. itโ€™ll tank spacex too, but musk doesnโ€™t care. if openai canโ€™t ipo, it will suffocate and die. spacex will still survive and possibly thrive.

By far the most plausible explanation, IMO
Really don't think I've seen a single person give an accurate reading of Elizabeth Holmes' whole deal: that she likes to psychically offload the complexities of life to controlling men so she can retreat and live her dream of playing scientist.

we've been shipping a lot of improvements to Frame lately, but one of the biggest is coming this week. one piece of feedback we've heard was that our dashboard was confusing. payments and compliance were grouped together in ways that made sense to us internally, but not always to the platforms using it. fair criticism... so we fixed it. the new dashboard gives each product a clearer home and makes it easier for us to introduce new features across financial services and compliance. we're rolling out launching v2 of our Transfers API. it supports bidirectional money movement across cards, bank accounts, and wallets. oh, and accounts on Frame can now hold balances too ๐Ÿ‘€ a lot more coming.

I donโ€™t trade public stocks but if I did I would bet on this thesis: As consumers adopt agents to make purchase decisions, weโ€™ll see significant growth among the *quantifiably best* products and services.

The Warriorsโ€™ inevitable downfall was set in motion by their mishandling of the Draymond-Poole incident, Stephโ€™s overly passive leadership, and Kerrโ€™s inability to evolve beyond small-ball philosophy.

I remember a few years ago i was coaching my sonโ€™s soccer team, and before the game I told him if he scored 3 goals today weโ€™d go to his favorite vacation spot in Cancun. We were already going to that resort the next day as a surprise to the kids, but he locked in and scored 4 goals. To this day, he still has no idea it wasnโ€™t his goals that took us on that trip, but he still talks about that game to this day as the proudest moment of his life.
