Do not leave the ECHR
The gov't is considering leaving the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR). This decision could place people's rights under serious threat. We want the UK to remain part of the ECHR. petition.parliament.uk/petit…
Not so much "Let them eat cake" as "Let them burn, let them asphyxiate, let them die of mould, let them freeze to death, let them fall down the stairs, let them go through the floor, let them fall out of a window...". Anything dangerous will do.
Replying to @NorthopHallVA
@NorthopHallVA people at other sites round the uk say they want to do something proactive. Here's one idea even tho it does come via the Daily Mail. I do think local people defending ASs is a powerful statement because it stops confusion between hating the plan/hating the people.

📍Today we showed up outside Capita's AGM in London, with campaign partners @BIDdetention and @privacyint.
We greeted shareholders with info on Capita's involvement in the Home Office's brutal GPS tracking scheme.

ALT a photograph of a mobile billboard van on a street in the daytime. the billboard says "Hey Capita! Your #BlackLivesMatter statement didn't quite explain why you're profiting from racialised surveillance." along with a QR code and link to the campaign page, the campaign hashtag #DignityNotData, and campaign logo for Capital Surveillance, a parody of Capita PLC.

And then a small boy called out, "But the King is wearing no clothes!" He was immediately arrested by the Metropolitan police, and was prosecuted for disrupting the coronation celebrations. And that, children is how civil rights became a fairytale.

So it's ok to protest as long as you do it a few hundred miles from where the event you are protesting about is taking place?

I have written to my MP to tell him that @BridgeeCee is a Litmus test. Even on the Kent coast, where one might expect gammony rage against asylum-seekers to be at its foamiest, British people don't hate them as much as the government wishes it did. Go Bridget! 💪🏼

Excellent from Diane Taylor:
Despite Braverman’s ugly rhetoric re 'invasions', the HO attempted to persuade Wethersfield that it wouldn’t be so bad after all to have a large group of ASs as their new neighbours. The Home Office can’t have it both ways...
