In a guest commentary, Thiru Vignarajah argues that hiring Biff Poggi as Maryland's next football coach could transform the program by finally keeping elite local recruits home instead of watching them depart for Michigan, Ohio State, Alabama and Oklahoma.
Vignarajah writes that Poggi, who built dynasties at Gilman and St. Frances Academy and recently served as Michigan's interim coach, has the credibility, entrepreneurial vision and authentic hometown story to make the Terps a destination rather than a "polite pit stop" on recruiting tours, and that "radical turnarounds happen — but not without radical changes in leadership."

For me, the only dignified choice is to leave the Senate race blank—an undervote representing a rejection of ideological absolutism. This makes me no less a Democrat. I refuse to be complicit in excusing or accepting extremism to beat extremism. The madness has to stop somewhere.

Last night, I watched Neera Tanden and @SamSeder on @majorityfm. I was lying in bed and fell asleep in the middle of it. Sam did a good job allowing Neera to make her case. I couldn't understand why she had such a hard time differentiating "the left" from "liberals."
I looked up David Rubenstein when he bought the Orioles. I found out that he's a rich guy who probably wanted to become more rich. I guess I was right. And the Orioles are back in the basement.
