This NASA visualization shows the CO2 emitted into the earth's atmosphere + clarifies who is responsible for the climate crisis: we, the Global North. There is not time to wait. #ActOnClimate #climate #energy #renewables

Talk about regenerative agriculture: “There are lessons to be learned from Indigenous smallholders, who have traditionally practiced climate-friendly techniques such as agroforestry and customary forest conservation, but have often lost their land to large plantation companies, notes Aida Greenbury, advisor to the Indonesian independent smallholders union (SPKS).” reuters.com/sustainability/l…

“A study by an Indonesian NGO challenges government claims that oil palm cultivation is a driver of economic welfare and development, showing that the environmental and social damage from plantations in the country’s Papua region vastly outweigh any benefits. Indonesia’s Papua region, which makes up the western half of the island of New Guinea, is home to the largest tract of intact rainforest left in Asia. news.mongabay.com/2024/10/co…

The climate crisis is a book of many stories, but one of the hardest to tell is about the loss of places you love. Here's a photo I took a few weeks ago from a hilltop near my mom's place in Red Bluff, CA looking east to Mt. Lassen. A wild and beautiful part of the state, now being torched by #ParkFire that is accelerated by conditions created by our hell-bent consumption of fossil fuels (my mom's house, for the moment, is safe).

Just submitted my short doc, AFTER, which is about grief/ loss to @NNFilmFestival for 2025. It is the closest festival to where the film was shot in Rutland. So, kind of a big deal.

A study found that Indonesians consume about 15 grams of microplastics per capita per month, more than any other country. Most of these plastic particles come from water sources, including seafood. The concentration of microplastics in table salt in Indonesia is rated 100 times higher than that of salt in the United States. kompas.id/baca/humaniora/202…

The UN-backed SBTi net-zero target validator started removing firms with commitments that did not make the grade early last year. Only 7 per cent of the biggest firms are on track to achieve net-zero targets for Scope 1 and 2 emissions. eco-business.com/news/one-th…
