New dad goal after watching Alysa Lu's 🥇:
Raise my daughter to be like her.
No, not a gold medalist or figure skater.
Someone who finds something she loves, forges her own way through struggles, & most of all, does it with as much JOY as Alysa seems to

The only networking advice you’ll ever need: Give first.

I'm speaking at Snafu Conference on March 5! This is an event to teach sales to folks who are reluctant to do sales.
I have so much to say about this subject--understanding how to do sales well was the key unlock in my career as a founder. And realizing that sales is about being human centric; listening well; and matching the needs of your client to yourself, authentically, is what makes this skill so much fun.
Huge thank you to @RobinPZander for putting on this event and inviting me. Sign up in the next comment, along with a 20% discount code.

Great content, wonderful people, and an event crafted with the eye of an expert for human design. Really enjoy Robin’s conferences!
I’ve spent the last 10 years running unusual conferences. My flagship, @Responsive_Con, is ostensibly about the future of work. In reality, it’s a circus performance disguised as a business conference. We run the Responsive Conference at unusual venues. There are Safari animals. Popsicles. A local bookstore selling our speakers’ books.
And Snafu Conference, our new event about influence and persuasion, is no different.
Expect talks from some of the best in the world. But also expect experiences—practicing the principles you hear with fellow attendees, and maybe even with strangers. Not just great food, but an exceptional venue as well. Not just ideas, but hands-on practice in doing the very things we’re here to discuss.
If this sounds like your kind of conference, learn more at joinsnafu.com

What does it really take to invest in “hilariously early” startups?
In a wide-ranging conversation on The Undefeated Underdogs podcast, @ericbahn, co-founder and General Partner at @HustleFundVC, explains how investing in nascent founders often means moving faster than the market itself: “When you’re starting a VC fund, there is one big element of stress that you don’t have to worry about: product‑market fit. VC is a pretty established concept at this point”.
That clarity allows him to focus on where it counts, which is unfiltered hustle.
But what does hustle truly mean? In Hustle Fund’s blog, he defines it as “great execution meets high velocity,” pointing to exceptional productivity, rapid learning, and relentless focus on metrics.
It’s a mindset born from his days at @facebook and @instagram, where building, shipping, and learning at 10× speed became non-negotiable. That same ethos fuels his investments in startups like @webflow and Rupa Health.
He recently shared a founder-friendly pitch tip in Hustle Fund’s Uncapped Notes blog: “Speak only of pleasantries” when presenting to VCs, meaning lead with clarity and relevance, not data dumps. This advice comes from personal experience: his first startup was rejected over 100 times before winning non-dilutive funding, a reminder that timing and clarity matter more than polish.
At Responsive 2025, Eric will showcase this founder-forward investing lens in our Funders’ Fishbowl, alongside VC leaders @VirginieRaphael and Danielle Strachman.
It’s a live, rotating format where candor matters, and audience members can join the conversation. Expect real stories, rapid insights, and hard-learned wisdom on what it truly takes to support startups in today’s fast‑moving world.
If you’re navigating early funding, scaling a startup, or just curious about how VC really works, this session offers a front-row view into founding, funding, and forging ahead in an industry that demands hustle.
Don’t miss it.

Only two things really matter right now:
1. ai
2. the physical world we inhabit
The bigger AI gets, the more important our physical world will become.
(the spaces we inhabit, our cities, a need for community, etc).
Build in one of these.
