A grand, sincere attempt by Namit Malhotra to bring India’s beloved epic to the big screen with a world-class scale.
Nitesh Tiwari gives the story room to breathe, focusing on duty, love, and the moral weight of choices rather than treating it as a nonstop action spectacle.
The visuals are often stunning, especially in the larger battle and divine moments, though some effects occasionally feel less convincing than the film’s ambition. On the flip-side, the music doesn’t live upto the grandeur but is reasonably good.
Yash makes a powerful impression as Ravana, bringing menace and complexity to a role that could easily have been one-note.
Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi bring quiet dignity to Rama and Sita, even if their chemistry takes time to develop.
Overall, it is a satisfying first chapter visually rich, emotionally earnest, and promising enough to make the sequel feel worth waiting for.

Individuals named as Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-appointed Booth Level Agents (BLAs), and listed as ‘objectors’ in at least 77% of the total 1,021 deletion applications filed so far in Delhi’s Mustafabad constituency, have largely denied any association with filing Form 7s as part of the continuing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in the city.
The Hindu contacted all 20 BLAs registered with the BJP, according to the Election Commission of India’s (ECI) records, who are named as filing the 787 Form 7s, which cite reasons such as “absent/permanently shifted”, “already enrolled” and “death” to seek the deletion of electors’ names.
