Another mesmerizing capture from @Dustin_Farrell. @ztresearch
I captured this strange phenomenon recently in SE Colorado at 1000FPS. Check out how the bolt actually follows the turbine blade at the end. If the blade was spinning faster would it draw a lightning circle?? Would love another @LaurelCoons analysis! @WorldAndScience

1/ So I wasn't exaggerating when I said the storm in Kansas the other night was probably the pinnacle of my chasing so far. Experts confirm a very high likelihood that I did capture multiple gigantic jets - more precisely, very rarely captured positive gigantic jets.

There's a limit to how "dynamic" you can get with a tethered test, but we're pushing the envelope as much as we can with the latest test of Gyroc, our VTVL rocket. Thanks to @esa and @spacegovuk. Video here: youtube.com/watch?v=WAMXIBng…

This one is a bit niche perhaps, but it was the perfect mix of educational, weird, and original that it made me laugh harder than perhaps all the rest

We're pleased to announce that our VTVL rocket "Gyroc" has received funding from @esa (via @spacegovuk) for a development and test programme which will allow us to refine the control system and design a larger-scale vehicle. Here's a test from last week: youtube.com/watch?v=Kzl64BYY…

First detail images NOSS satellite USA-229 were frames on top and bottom seem to confirm detail. This is the preceding satellite of this NOSS pair. NOSS satellites are very difficult targets for backyard telescopes due to the high altitude of over 1000 km.

You know what really twists my giblits? People that won't use the nano metric prefix when dealing with capacitors. Ooh, it's 10000 pF. I mean... 0.022 uF. Just use NANO D: IT EXISTS

Did you know the Saturn V 2nd stage used a mixture ratio shift of the engines inflight? After centre engine cutoff it moved from 5.5:1 to 4.5:1 (high thrust to higher ISP), resulting in the ability to carry an extra 1210 kg of payload. Something found in Monte Carlo simulations!

It's jaw-dropping stuff. UK scientists have waited 30 years for a meteorite fall and, wow, has their patience been rewarded! Several carbonaceous chondrite fragments (300-400g) that henceforth will be known as the #Winchcombe #Meteorite. @NHM_London bbc.co.uk/news/science-envir…
