Gov. Sherrill either seems to not have her own facts straight, or just doesn’t care– and my colleagues and I aren't letting this off the hook.
She told us the MVC's noncitizen voter registration problem ran from June 2023 to June 2024. Then a green card holder who visited the Freehold MVC in September 2024 – and never asked to register – became an active voter a year later.
This registration occurred OUTSIDE of the window of June 2023 and June 2024 that the governor claimed was the issue. Indeed, it was well AFTER that window.
Vicky, Gerry, and I want answers – and an independent audit of every MVC registration. Now.

Politicians keep telling you voter ID is what keeps people from voting. The opposite is true. Without it you get legitimate voters stuck in paperwork and challenges while the obvious problems get a free pass.
In Monmouth County, your clerk loves putting on the song and dance online when it’s useful, but when the people she’s supposed to work for actually need something done, the county goes quiet.
Too busy with the parties and the backrooms to follow up. The performance is for the audience. The constituents are optional.
