Tonight, my family and I experienced something no family should ever have to go through. Our restaurant, Singh’s Dining Restaurant in Hammersmith, was attacked by a group of Islamists. We had been receiving death threats every single day, including one that specifically warned us that 28 October would be our last day. We raised our concerns, and the @metpoliceuk were aware of the threats. Yet tonight, we found ourselves facing the very nightmare we had feared. My daughter had to close the shutters just in time. I cannot even begin to imagine what might have happened if she hadn’t acted so quickly. We could have lost someone in our family tonight. The attackers reportedly tried for a long time to break through the shutters to get inside, leaving shortly before the police arrived. We have serious concerns about how the attackers knew when to leave, and whether they were alerted before the police arrived. These concerns deserve a thorough and transparent investigation. Tonight, I am left facing a heartbreaking decision, Do we keep our doors open and risk our lives, or do we shut down the business we have worked so hard to build because I don’t serve Halal food. No family should ever have to choose between their livelihood and their safety. No one should have to live in fear in their own place of work. I am angry. I am heartbroken. I am frightened for my family’s safety. I am calling on the @metpoliceuk to take these threats seriously, investigate tonight’s attack thoroughly, and ensure that my family is protected. Please share this post. Let our voices be heard. We should not have to wait for someone to lose their life before our safety is taken seriously. Enough IS Enough. #Justice

Better than any manager they've ever had.

When people say “this isn’t Man United”, what they’re really saying is that it isn’t Fergie’s Man United. They’ve been shit now for 13 years since he left and they were shit for 25 years before he joined

When United fans realise this is the norm for them will be a great day. They literally have one good manager who won 95% of their trophies. Greatness is not ingrained in that club it was down to one man. They can't accept that.

An Irishman named Andy Farrell who has been on the streets asked me to share his story with you today, warts and all: "On 29th december after living in galway for 5 years or so i went in to a rehab centre in limerick. When i completed it I went in to a transition house also in limerick. Towards the end of july i relapsed and was asked to leave the transition house where i spent a few weeks on the streets of limerick. I take full accountability for my actions i put myself there by drinking unfortunately. A few weeks after this i got a bus to waterford where i jumped in to the river to take my own life. This was unsuccessful and i was pulled from the water and admitted to hospital. 1 week later i was discharged to see a mental health team in waterford. I asked not to be discharged as i didnt feel ready and told them i would jump in again. They discharged me and that night i jumped in to the river again, again it was unsuccesful. I also had been drinking through this time. When i got out of hospital i sought help from waterford county council but they told me i had no local connection and they wouldnt be able to help me on any shape or form. And to go to either to galway where my previous address had been or wicklow county council where my mam dad and sister have lived for over 10 and 20 years. That would qualify as a local connection. When i contacted Galway county council they said my application has been closed over a year that there was no need for me to go back there. So after 5 weeks on the streets of waterford, i made a decision to travel to wicklow county council to seek help. I travelled up on thursday 1st October. I filled out a housing application form and they done a brief homeless assesment on me and i was told i couldnt avail of the emergency homeless services and to go back to waterford. When i rang waterford they told me to stay in wicklow. So after emails back and forth they invited me for another assesment on tuesday 6th of October. Bearing in mind by then i slept another 5 nights on the street. When I went to the homeless assesment on Tuesday i met with a woman called Winifred and a man called Anthony where they asked me a series of questions pretty irrelevant to my application. The end result they said that my local connection wasnt strong enough. Even though by their own papers and legislation it says if a family memeber lives in the county for more than 2 continous years, this is provided as a local connection. When i asked what am i going to do winifred advised me to go to bray to avail of a tent and a sleeping bag and sleep on the streets. Since then i have been sleeping on the streets of wicklow town. I am currently sober and attending AA meetings. I have TD's and councillors working to advocate for me but to no avail. There is a homeless hostel called kilmantin lodge in wicklow town which i have on good authority they have beds free yet i have been left on a doorway for 8 nights in wicklow with absoloutely no credible reason." #HouseTheIrish

Can I get Government funding, like The Journal, to fact check the fact checkers? Because fact checking has become a powerful weapon in public debate. Yet while politicians, commentators and ordinary people are routinely scrutinised, I don’t see anything like the same enthusiasm for fact checking the Government itself. Maybe what we really need is an independently funded organisation whose job is to scrutinise the fact checkers themselves, challenge Government claims and publish corrections when the people doing the checking get it wrong.

This is absolutely my bottom line feeling on the City debacle. Whatever plays out, Klopp and LFC are in every meaningful sense the British team of the last decade and in the discussion for the greatest in the history of the domestic game. Not been measurable (yet) in quantum of trophies, but it’s surely now beyond reasonable moral dispute. Klopp’s Liverpool are arguably English football’s greatest ever side. If measured out in points totals, definitely. The 2019 team has the greatest *real* points total in history, and added a CL the same season. Then there’s the 2022 team that without City’s fraud has the second highest points total, and a domestic treble. Football, in sanctioning city, can try to reflect all of this or not, but the ultimate truth is more evident now than ever.
Every bit of news about City enhances Klopp’s reputation. An excuse to post a long interview I did with him six years ago tonyevans92a.substack.com/p/…

Curious isn't it when this cunt and his brother did this to a female Police officer they were released from custody within 24 hours and sat back at home on their sofas. Now we see a man charged with criminally damaging a dinghy and he's remanded overnight straight to court the next day. The law can be tough when it wants to be can't it, depending obviously on who you are in Andy Burnhams #TwoTierBritain #DannyTommo
