The night before a marathon calls for early bed time. We got to Kasese just under 5 hours back, got to our hotels and are set for tomorrow.
We’ll be up at 5 am and head to the starting line.

I don’t know how to answer the “how” without a lengthy history lesson.
But I can tell you that the sunrise up there is indescribably beautiful.
In frame 1, I was standing on Mt Stanley looking east at Mt Speke and Mt Baker to my right. You can see Mt Baker piercing through the clouds in frame 3.
One might struggle to find a more beautiful place in Africa than The Rwenzoris.
