I get the importance of covering these incidents. I get the importance of films like NAZA. But it is galling, deeply galling, that the carnage inflicted on Palestinians for eighty years is consistently narrated (if at all) as if props or background to Jewish reckonings, Jewish moral dilemmas, Jewish political diversity, and so on.
Heidi Levine is an American-born Jewish colonizer based in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, where she and her entire family live as settlers on colonized land. She got a tiny dose of what Palestinians suffer daily, and it's major news. A Little Girl Watches Her Mother Burn Alive in Gaza During a So-Called Ceasefire
At dawn today, Israeli warplanes struck an apartment belonging to the Awad family in Gaza City. A massive fire broke out, leaving several family members dead or injured.
As people searched for those still missing, they heard a little girl screaming. When they reached her, they found her sitting on her bed, watching helplessly as her mother burned alive in front of her.
I cannot begin to imagine what that little girl went through. I cannot put myself in her place, not even for a second. What happens to a childโs mind when she watches her mother burn to death before her eyes? How does she ever recover from something like that? And what could this cruel, complicit world possibly do to make up for even a moment of such horror?
The little girl was pulled from the fire alive. But I cannot bring myself to call that survival.
Something inside her must have died in that room, something she may never get back. She will grow up carrying the memory of that night, of sitting on her bed, screaming for her mother as the flames consumed her. That may be the last image she ever has of the woman who brought her into this world.
My God. How is a child supposed to live with that?

A lot of people have [rightfully] been criticizing the @nytimes for publishing an essay entitled "Israelis Are Exhausted."
I submit to you evidence that this is a long standing tradition of western media that puts the focus on the feelings of psychopathic mass murdering war criminals when those criminals are Jewish, such that the profound suffering of their victims serve merely as props for Jewish moral dilemmas.

Zionists trying to oversimplify Zionism as some โredemptionโ movement is just utterly ridiculous and failing.
The idea of Zionism was inherently racist, and its racism was first directed against the Jewish people themselves, the G-Dly People of the Book. Zionist leaders detested that Jews identified and only took pride in our sacred Torah.
They hated that our pride was rooted in religious pursuits, service of G-D, morality, and justice.
They wanted Jews to be โa nation like all the nations,โ and that is why they transformed every part of our religion into a โnationalโ component to buttress a fabricated modern nationality developed by largely secular political thinkers amid the nationalist movements sweeping Europe in the late 19th century.
Our Rabbis instinctively and rightfully declared Zionism to be akin to idol worship, a war against the soul of the Jewish people, and that hasnโt changed.
