BREAKING: SpaceX is in talks to lock down at least 80,000 U.S. cell sites for Starlink Mobile, including with tower giant Crown Castle, per Bloomberg.
Satellites overhead, towers on the ground, and freshly bought spectrum. That's a full-stack 4th national carrier taking shape against AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile.
Elon said on this week's SpaceX earnings call that new satellites plus spectrum will make Starlink Mobile a major U.S. mobile carrier.

If AI is not a revolutionary new technology, why is there so much hype now?
Andrej Karpathy: AI isn’t the revolutionary new technology people think it is. It’s just more automation.
“I don’t see AI as a distinct technology from what has already been happening for a long time.”
“You can’t find computers or mobile phones in GDP.”
“Everything is so spread out and slowly diffuses.”
“With AI, we’re going to see the exact same thing.”
“AI is still fundamentally a program.”

The future light cone of discoveries rounds up to 100% engineering, as the set of physics rules that govern our reality is very tiny compared to what can be done with those rules.
The reason I didn’t choose a career in physics, my favorite subject, is that I would be stuck waiting for a new collider or telescope. Better to advance technologies that ultimately enable discovery of new physics.
A new twist in the federal investigation into Rep. Ilhan Omar: Sources tell @foxnewspolitics that the Minnesota congresswoman's birth name is actually Ilhan Nur Said Elmi.
A court filing seeking to keep the search warrant for Omar's D.C. home sealed identifies her as "Ilhan Nur Said Elmi, a/k/a Ilhan Abdullahi Omar."
Now, a former federal immigration judge says that if investigators establish she used a false identity, government documents she has signed over the years could face scrutiny, from passport applications to voting records.
Omar has not been charged with a crime and maintains she has done nothing wrong.
The court filing is raising new questions about the investigation. See what prosecutors are asking the judge to keep sealed: foxnews.com/politics/ilhan-o…
Starlink Mobile is building something no carrier has ever done: one network that connects your phone from space and from the ground, giving every American coverage in places that have never had it
SpaceX is said to be seeking at least 80,000 U.S. cell tower sites, in talks with Crown Castle, right after agreeing to buy nationwide 800 MHz low-band spectrum and getting FCC approval for 15,000 next-gen direct-to-phone satellites
And the possibilities are incredible:
• Signal indoors, outdoors, in dead zones and everywhere in between
• Low-band 800 MHz that travels far and reaches deep inside buildings
• Gen2 satellites with more than 100x the bandwidth of the current generation
• Works with the phone already in your pocket
• Real competition for AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile
Starlink Mobile will be the first network operator to deploy both satellite and terrestrial spectrum, so coverage stops depending on where someone happened to build a tower
America is getting a 4th major carrier, and it starts in orbit

Elon Musk says the future is universal high income. Peter Diamandis breaks down what that would actually look like: food, water, energy, healthcare, education and shelter, all covered.

SpaceX has just officially received FCC approval to acquire three additional spectrum licenses from Tristar to expand its upcoming next-gen @Starlink Mobile network.
The licenses cover 15 MHz of spectrum in the 1695–1710 MHz band.
The FCC also granted waivers allowing SpaceX to use the spectrum for satellite communications instead of building traditional cell towers.
This approval comes just two weeks after SpaceX announced an agreement to acquire nationwide 800 MHz low-band spectrum to improve indoor coverage and outlined plans to combine its satellite constellation with terrestrial infrastructure.
Starlink Mobile will become the first network operator to deploy both satellite and terrestrial spectrum: "One network that provides Americans with a reliable service indoors, outdoors, in cellular dead zones, and everywhere in between."
I seriously can't believe Grok Bot just does everything....like literally everything I'd normally do on my laptop, and it just does it for me....
And I'm getting really confident just letting it handle things for me now.... don't think anything will go wrong because it's been handling everything so well so far.... It's really incredible

Elon Musk on why he stopped fighting AI and started building it.
"I've got two choices, which is either be a participant or a spectator. And I think I guess being a participant is more interesting than being a spectator."
He still puts some chance on AI being an existential threat. He also knows no one can stop it. So he chose to shape it.
His safety formula is simple: make AI curious and maximally truth-seeking.
• Spectators complain about the future
• Participants build it
"Curious, truth-seeking. I think these are important elements of safety."
