Almost four weeks ago, Sal Garcia was injured diving for a ball in the Morris County final.
He separated his shoulder and tore his labrum. Remarkably, he didn't miss a game for @DelbyBaseball.
He capped a magnificent career with a memorable state title: nj.com/highschoolsports/2026…

1,000 wins in a coaching career is special, but doing it across two sports is an even more rare feat, one that Delbarton’s Bruce Shatel achieved on Wednesday with the No. 1 Green Wave’s 11-1 win over No. 15 Mount Olive. Virginia commit Sal Garcia was player of the game, going 3-3 with five RBIs, as Coach Shatel had a celebration waiting for him after he scored the last run!

Have a day @SG3Baseball!! Down 1 in the bottom of the 6th, the 2026 SS put one off the left field fence, and drove in 3.
@DelbyBaseball hangs on and defends Fleury Field! Appropriately, Garcia flashes the leather to put it away.
