How many snow leopards remain in Pakistan?
A scientific study by the Snow Leopard Foundation (SLF), conducted from 2009–2019, estimated the population at 167. The findings highlight the need for research-based conservation and stronger protection of mountain habitats.

Respected partners, the wilderness has no national status - it lives beyond our human territorial boundaries.
Climate change impacts every single nation across the world. We need each nation's respective governments to collaborate with specialists to help find the solutions for our planet's future and all life on it.
Our natural habitat and wildlife numbers are indicators of the conditions of global landscapes and our planet's wellbeing.
Let's work with these sentient wildcats of the mountains and other wildlife species worldwide to make national change before we can learn to collaborate together on such global issues.
Thank you,
MoG Ltd.
PS: #SnowLeopardDay is today but the work does not end here.

Why is the snow leopard called the “Ghost of the Mountains”?
Camouflaged, vanishes among snow and rock. Fur protects from cold. paws support movement over snow, tail helps balance and warmth.
Every camera-trap helps reveal the habitat
Which adaptation impresses you most?
🐆 Did you know? Pakistan’s national assessment produced a genetic estimate of 167 snow leopards, with a 95% confidence range of 128–220.
Better evidence helps guide conservation and protect this elusive mountain cat.

World Animal Day: a reminder that Pakistan's high mountains are shared space - for snow leopards, ibex, and the communities who live alongside them.
A simple predator-proof corral means fewer livestock losses at night - and fewer retaliation killings of snow leopards. Small design, real impact.
Their workplace is the mountain.
Their job is protecting wildlife. 🏔️No desks, just steep climbs and a mission to protect Pakistan's snow leopards and wild heritage.

They look identical. They aren't. 🐆
Look closely at the spots, face, nose and markings.
These subtle differences can help researchers distinguish individual snow leopards in the wild.
Now your turn:
What difference did you spot first? 👇

No cameras. No audience. Just tracks in the rugged mountains and someone willing to follow them.
This is field evidence-collection, the part of conservation nobody posts about, until now.
More wildlife, more people, or more of the mountains? Tell us.

🐆 Camouflage is a snow leopard’s hunting tool.
Its smoky-grey coat and dark rosettes blend with rocky mountain slopes, helping it approach prey unseen. In the rugged HKH Mountain, disappearing into the landscape mean the difference between a failed hunt and a successful ambush.
