Fort Hood shooting survivor Alonzo Lunsford says he wants to witness the execution of the man who tried to kill him, Nidal Malik Hasan, who is expected to be executed by firing squad.
Lunsford wants to face the terrorist who tried to take his life and deliver one final message: “I am not your victim anymore. I’m a survivor.”
A staff sergeant at the time of the 2009 Fort Hood mass shooting, Lunsford was shot seven times. He survived, but the attack left him blind in one eye, without half his intestines, and suffering from lasting nerve damage.
After everything he has endured, he refuses to let the man who tried to kill him define his life. He is no longer just a victim. He is a survivor.

@dadmanwalking55 @KagleWest do you know if this is true??
Lmao. In 1986, a U.S. Navy helicopter crew pulled off a great prank.
As the USS America was being relieved by the USS John F. Kennedy in the Indian Ocean, sailors from HS-11 acquired three piglets, dyed them red, white, and blue, covered them in grease, and dropped them onto Kennedy’s flight deck from a Sea King.
To add another layer to the prank, the helicopter crew numbered the pigs 1, 2, and 4.

Enduring to the end is not merely a relentless determination to grit our teeth, hold on to the limits of our physical strength and mental capacity, and push through the challenges and adversities of mortal life; it is so much more than that.
Enduring to the end is linked inextricably to the spiritual gift of charity, or the pure love of Christ. As we are blessed to receive this supernal gift, a transformation occurs in our spiritual nature and character. Charity encompasses both what we do and what we can become as this spiritual gift ultimately possesses us.
As we follow, love, and serve the Savior, we gradually focus less on our own desires and interests, and more on understanding and addressing the needs of others. We do not merely perform benevolent deeds; rather, our state of being is changed and becomes increasingly Christlike. Charity, then, ultimately possesses us.
The scriptural phrase “endure to the end” is a repeated reminder of the mighty spiritual change in our hearts that should be ongoing throughout our lives; it also is His promise of what we may become if we truly are possessed of the pure love of Christ. #GeneralConference

For months, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has continued to donate truckload after truckload of food donations to food banks across the United States. This is part of the America 250 celebration to honor the 250th anniversary of the United States. The CEO of one food bank in St. George, Utah said the donation will help take pressure off as they are seeing a big influx of families in need.
Women in Relief Societies in Alabama, Georgia, Florida and Louisiana helped those in need and served as Jesus Christ would. Several recent activities helped babies, teens, senior citizens and first responders.

She was a wife and mother of two children. In 2005, she enlisted in the National Guard and then transferred to the Army Reserve in 2006. Sgt. Amor received numerous awards, including the Army Commendation Medal.
In a statement with the Associated Press, her husband Joey Amor said, "She was almost home. You don't go to Kuwait thinking something's going to happen, and for her to be one of the first - it hurts." Joey also told MPR News, "If you needed anything she would just take care of it for you. She's helped a lot of people."
Her service to the United States spanned more than 20 years. We send sincere condolences and prayers to her family during this extremely difficult time.

Last night during the State of the Union, retired U.S. Navy Captain Royce Williams was awarded the Medal of Honor for his extraordinary heroism during the Korean War.
On November 18, 1952, flying an F9F Panther from USS Oriskany, Williams engaged and fought off multiple Soviet MiG-15s in a harrowing dogfight over the Sea of Japan—bringing his damaged aircraft home against overwhelming odds. His actions were classified for decades.
More than 70 years later, the nation formally recognized his courage and devotion to duty. A long-overdue honor for a naval aviator whose bravery stood the test of time. 🇺🇸✈️
