Last season vs a similar NYK lineup Franz dominated scoring (32 & 44 PA) in the two meetings, (excluding the 3rd game where he left to injury 7 mins into the game). Usage should be insane here today last year he had a 3% usage increase without Paolo on the court and avg 30 PA per 36 in that sample. We’ve also seen ORL elect to left Franz facilitate significantly more through the first two games this season, and that was even with Banchero active. Franz has 23 pa in just 24 mins w/o Paolo on the court this year. 27.5 PA and 32.5 PRA both good for 0.85u

This was evident in the preseason where he had a 30% usage rate and avg 30 pts per 36 mins. Over the last 3 years he is over in 8/9 games with a usage over 20% when playing 28-36 mins. Also over in 14/18 with 14-18 FGA in that span. For his career he has cleared this line in 19/25 games in which he had a usage over 25% and played 25+ mins. SAC projects as an absolutely horrible defense as Lavine, Acuff and Sabonis are below average defenders. Cardwell and Simmons being out only makes matters worse. In the preseason with Sabonis+Acuff+Lavine on the court they allowed 82 pts in just 27 minutes. Jalen Smith O 18.5 PR (-102 @ FD) Collab w/ @austinsprops Claxton is OUT for Chicago which now pencils Jalen Smith into the starting lineup where motivation for him will be high after a really nice preseason where he had 21+ PR in both his preseason meetings when he played 20/21 mins. Last season with 21+ mins he was O in 18/23 games, including 2/2 vs Toronto. We’re expecting closer to 25-32 for Sticks in this matchup as books feel like they’re sleeping on his production. Smith in the preseason fired 17 3PA’s in 4 games, that’s a path that could be highly effective tonight against Jakob Poeltl’s drop coverage. This is another monster 237.5 point total that should pace nicely for Smith to come through 19.5 PR fine for 0.75u

VJ Edgecombe O 10.5 points (-120 FD) Collab w/ @a1fantasy23 11.5 now, still like it there for 0.75u. VJ opens up this season as the potential 5th option for the 76ers, but gets a great matchup vs the Knicks. Will be guarded by Brunson here who he had 21.5 pts/75 possessions when covered by him last season. The usage is obviously a worry with LeBron and JB now there, but the 76ers will need to attack Brunson and that puts VJ constantly in the action. We bet this exact philosophy playoffs with Kelly Oubre who was a wagon and had extreme usage in the 76ers' series vs the Knicks. Should also get a rotation without all main guys on the floor plus last year, with a usage rate between 10-15%, he still covered in 60% of games. Overall, a great matchup spot for VJ where he should be involved even with Philly's new editions.

Should be in for good minutes as long as he avoids foul trouble. With 25-32 minutes vs non top 5 paint defenses he is over in 5/7 games over the last 2 years and has notched a double double in 3 of those 7. Will get matched up against Diabate for the most part here, when covered by Moussa he avg 30.1 pts/75. Last year in 29 total minutes vs CHA he scored 20 points.
