Fantastic day!
Today we are in the auditorium for the 2nd day of debates. Such a fabulous event to celebrate the hard work of our final year students in their debates module led by the amazing @SarahCCummins @LeedsTrinity
Congratulations to our final year trainee teachers for their outstanding debates this week. Their passion, knowledge & commitment was clear. Covering topics current in education, they really embraced effective debating skills to argue their positions. @LeedsTrinity

If documents by civil servants aren’t going to provide the EY sector with research informed practice, then the sector will do it for them. We have mobilised and it’s across multi agency sector for play. Watch this space. #PlayMatters

Play Matters.⭐️Do one thing today. ⭐️
Retweet and like, or even better copy the visual and tell those not informed or not listening (cough cough Ofsted) about the importance of play for 0-5 year olds (UK) that #PlayMatters. #EarlyYears

Just because something “works” with 10 year olds, it doesn’t automatically mean it’ll work with under 5s. Young children have very specific needs. The obsession with “readiness” is leading to many ignoring the children’s immediate developmental stage. Enough!

I have taught every age group from year one to year 13.
I can tell you that the Early Years (and 0 to 3) is where we need to make the greatest investment in education.
