New Yorkers are now being sent rebate checks because energy costs have gotten so high.
But temporary relief doesn’t answer the underlying question: Why are New Yorkers paying so much in the first place?
Months ago, the Ithaca Common Council called on Letitia James to investigate these rate hikes. Letitia James didn’t respond.
We still need answers.
New Yorkers deserve accountability, not just another check in the mail.
