Karen asked me to make a new diss track, but refuses to post it. She said I didn't understand the assignment.

Important notice: the conservative Karen Bass Super PAC Thrive LA secretly recorded calls to its AI phone line impersonating Nithya Raman, without obtaining callers consent, a criminal violation of CA Penal Code § 632.

Hi. Proton employee here, I was even famously quoted in the 404 media article.
I have spent a long-ass time debunking 404's misinfo about Proton online, like "Proton helps the FBI".
I would be wary about believing every single thing written by 404 about Proton.

Nice going, everyone.
Alabama passed a law, 138 votes to nothing, that makes every phone user in the state prove their age before downloading a single app.
A 45-year-old who wants a news app has to hand ID to Google first. Existing accounts get no pass either. Every one of them must be verified by October 2027.
Teenagers will need a parent’s sign-off to install Wikipedia, Duolingo or a Bible app, and kids without a parent to ask get locked out completely.
Apple, Google and Amazon’s lobby group has now sued to block it on First Amendment grounds.

After skipping over half of LAHSA meetings Mayor Bass resigned saying she didn’t have time for it. Yet she *still* hasn’t appointed a replacement meaning that amidst the City/County power struggle the County has held a majority membership for the last 5 LAHSA meetings.
“Bass missed 13 of 21 LAHSA Commission meetings held between mid-August 2025 and now. Since Bass named herself to the board in late 2023, she’s been absent for 25 of 47 meetings.”

To borrow a few word's from Bass' lawyer:
Bass failed to comply w/ "an essential aspect of the City's ethics laws" on 42+ occasions in the last few weeks. Bass & "her campaign deprived the public of important information to which they are entitled." Ethics must "prosecute."
Replying to @UnrigLA
Last week I spoke at the Ethics Commission meeting & noted how WEIRD it was that during the closing month of the race Bass hadn't filed any 24hr comms for over two weeks & w/in a few hours Bass posted a big batch of late comms. Further trickle since, & now up to 42 late filings!

There’s always someone else to blame with Karen Bass: The weather, the county, the system.
But Angelenos don’t need more excuses. They need a mayor who takes accountability and gets things done.

Today's Claude extension compromise is a good reminder to do this. If you're using VSCode @code, Cursor @cursor_ai, or any other IDE built on VSCode, I would immediately enable extensions.installCooldownHours.
I've set this setting to 72 (hours), which is a much safer delay to install new updates to extensions than the default setting of 0 (immediate updates).
This prevents extension updates from getting installed for 3 days, which would hopefully eliminate most of the risk from compromised updates. It's not foolproof, but it's better than no delay.
Heck, set it to something even higher to be safer, like 336 (2 weeks).

Thrive Los Angeles PAC paid a clipping firm to push out a dozen different anti Nithya Raman videos on social media.
Despite CA laws requiring disclosure on posts, very few appear to have them. And one of the only accounts to do so is based in Thailand!

We’ve been advocating for this for years, and now that Raman is running, Bass is suddenly working.
These permits should have never become more restrictive in the first place.
We need a mayor who doesn’t just work when she’s trying to win votes in the 11th hour of a campaign.
NEW: Mayor Bass announces an executive directive to help restaurants by easing permitting and outdoor dining. It's Bass' 24th exec directive since taking office, 1/3 of which were issued after Nithya Raman announced her race to be mayor.

Just wrote an article detailing 10 reasons why LAPD Chief McDonnell needs to be fired. I don’t know how you can read it and then make the case he should remain.
Why is Karen Bass continuing to defend him?

AO3 is doing what every security engineer dreams of being able to do after a breach. finding evidence of a breach and getting to say “we are taking everything offline for 2-4 WEEKS to ensure it’s completely clean and do a full investigation” is unheard of with for-profit companies.

Mayor Bass just issued her 25th & 26th Executive Directive.
Now up to 38% of her Executive Directives have been issued since Nithya Raman decided to run for a Mayor. 🤯
We need a Mayor for ALL 4 YEARS, not just when you're about to lose your job.
Don't get fooled, Los Angeles!
