Most businesses have a distribution problem.
@Nestle has to get a product from a factory to a shop.
A telecom company has to get a network into someone's phone.
A logistics company has to get a package from a warehouse to someone's doorstep.
A recruitment platform has to get the right person in front of the right employer.
Anthony Owusu-Ansah(@OwusuAnsah_) has spent much of his career somewhere in that chain.
At Nestlé, he worked on distributor operations in Kumasi.
At Tigo, he worked across mobile data, regional sales and relationships with the companies putting phones into Ghanaian hands.
At Vodafone, he moved into enterprise technology, helping businesses adopt connectivity.
Then he started building the systems himself.
In 2018, he founded @VacanciesGh, a recruitment and HR technology platform.
Two years later, when COVID-19 disrupted almost everything that moved, he launched @ShaQexpress.
It started as a courier company.
It grew into a national logistics operation with branches, delivery services and electric motorcycles on Ghanaian roads.
Different industries.
Different products.
Same underlying problem:
How do you get something from the system to the person who needs it?
In August 2026, that question followed him into government.
Owusu-Ansah became Acting Deputy Director-General of @NITAGhana
Suddenly, what they distribute is much bigger.
Government services.
Digital infrastructure.
Electronic transactions.
The systems that sit between the state and the citizen.
NITA oversees parts of the machinery most people never see but increasingly depend on. The servers. The standards. The digital systems. The infrastructure underneath government services.
It is a very different kind of distribution problem.
A parcel can be tracked.
A mobile data bundle can show up on your phone.
But when government goes digital, success is measured differently.
Can a citizen actually use the service?
Can they access it without knowing how the machinery behind it works?
Does the technology survive contact with the person it was built for?
That makes Owusu-Ansah's appointment interesting.
He isn't arriving from a career spent entirely inside government technology.
He has been on the other side.
Selling connectivity.
Managing customers.
Building businesses.
Moving parcels.
Connecting employers and job seekers.
Working with startups.
Now he is helping oversee the infrastructure through which the government itself has to reach people.
Because in the end, digital government has the same problem every good logistics company understands.
It isn't enough for something to exist.
It has to arrive.
And it has to arrive where people are.

I am grateful to H.E. John Dramani Mahama (@JDMahama), President of the Republic of Ghana, for the confidence placed in me to serve as Acting Deputy Director-General of the National Information Technology Agency (NITA).
Hon. Samuel Nartey George (@samgeorgegh), MP, who leads the Ministry of Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations (@MoCDTI), has set a clear direction for the sector, and I am glad to support him in advancing the Government's digital agenda.
My thanks to the Board, chaired by Estelle Akofio-Sowah (@NaaAnyoko), the Acting Director-General, Nana Yaw Amoah-Yeboah, and the Management and Staff for the warm welcome. I look forward to working with the team in service to Ghana.
