World Smile Day is coming, and it’s time to get ready! ✨
On 2 October, we’re coming together to celebrate smiles and raise awareness for the global cleft community.
This year, we’re inviting health professionals to join our #SmileWall2026 by sharing a photo or video answering a simple question: "What makes you smile?"
Healthcare workers are at the heart of everything we do. By sharing their stories, they help us bring greater visibility to cleft care worldwide.

Transforming Surgical Care in Uganda: The Smile Train Impact .
Ms. Audrey Linda, @Smiletrain Africa Program Assistant, recently highlighted the organization’s growing role in advancing specialized surgical care across Uganda.
For over 26 years, Smile Train has been a global leader in addressing the unmet need for cleft surgery, now active in over 75 countries. Having recently surpassed the milestone of 2 million life-changing cleft surgeries, the organization continues to scale its sustainable, local-first model.
The Uganda Perspective:
-Local Partnerships: Smile Train partners with 6 public and private local institutions, including the Comprehensive Rehabilitation Services in Uganda (CoRSU) Hospital and Mulago National Referral Hospital.
-Comprehensive Care: Beyond surgery, patients receive critical nutritional, psychological, and orthodontic support.
-Sustainable Growth: The mission extends to research, advocacy, and intensive capacity building for local medical professionals.
Ms. Linda concluded with a powerful call for stakeholders to join in partnership—ensuring that every child in Uganda has the chance to eat, speak, and smile with confidence.

Today, we’re celebrating our member, the Chinese Stomatological Association (CSA) — winner of the #WOHD25 Award for Best Media Campaign🏆
This #WOHD, CSA hosted a vibrant WOHD celebration at Jing Ning Shezu Ethnic Minority Elementary School in Shexian, Zhejiang Province. The event brought together students, teachers, and parents for creative and educational activities — from painting and a toothbrushing competition to oral health classes and traditional paper-cutting — all promoting healthy habits.
The celebration engaged 1,300 participants and reached over 450,000 people through CSA’s channels (Weibo, WeChat, TikTok, Bilibili) and major outlets like Xinhua Net, China Youth Daily, and Zhejiang Daily.

In honor of World Smile Day on October 3, @SmileTrainDubai, the world’s largest cleft-focused organization, is hosting a local Smile Wall, with the support of Dubai Humanitarian. The organization’s initiative is part of a global campaign to celebrate connection, positivity and the power of a smile while rallying support for children with cleft lips and palates.
The Smile Wall will be featured at @TheDubaiMall from October 2–4, at Times Square Center from October 3–4, and at select university campuses. These walls provide spaces for the public to post messages, drawings, or photos that reflect what makes them smile, transforming everyday spaces into colorful displays of hope and positivity.
