One documented case is Kathleen Lowrey, a University of Alberta professor. In February 2025 she and her 14-year-old daughter encountered a man in fetish gear (thong and rubber breasts) in the women’s changeroom at Edmonton’s Bonnie Doon Leisure Centre. Staff and police confirmed city policy allowed it. She filed an AHRC complaint alleging sex discrimination; it was rejected. Her 2026 judicial review was quashed on a technicality (city not properly named) and she was ordered to pay $625 costs. Public details on a clear second matching case remain limited.

Two women have now lost against Alberta Human Rights. We cannot say that we do not want men in our changerooms or spaces. Danielle Smiths UCP added funding under Arts, Culture and Status of women for LGBT+; grants to organizations fighting women.

This wasn't funded under NDP. This was added in under UCP. "We are getting rid of trans surgeries for kids" was literally a pathway for us to now fully fund Gender for Adults.

I have always voted Conservative. I'll never vote NDP. UCP funding immigrants over our youth having jobs is unforgiveable. I'm sick of hearing its Liberals when I found 7 UCP programs. Trades for immigrants hurts my family directly Youth unemploymemt under NDP was lower.
