BREAKTHROUGH IN MEDIATION: YES PRELIMINARY FRAMEWORK BEING DISCUSSED: YES DIRECT U.S.-IRAN TALKS CONFIRMED AS STARTED: NOT YET FINAL OR SIGNED DEAL: NO The next thing worth watching is very specific: an official or independently verified confirmation that the American delegation has arrived in Doha and is sitting down directly with the Iranian delegation. That would move this from successful shuttle diplomacy into a substantially more advanced phase.

🔥 Ukraine is hitting Russia across multiple fronts. 🔥 Novokuibyshevsk Oil Refinery A major Russian refinery in Samara region was struck, with heavy smoke and fire reported. 💥 Konservsushprod plant Drones struck the Bryansk-region facility linked to production of canned food and field rations. ✈️ Russian Su-57 BURNED 🚁 Russian Mi-8 DESTROYED. Ukrainian Hornet drones struck the helicopter after it landed in occupied Luhansk region. 🚀 500 PAC-3 MSE interceptors APPROVED. The U.S. State Department cleared a possible $2.1 BILLION Patriot missile sale to Ukraine. 🇫🇷 Rafale training begins in November. France is preparing to train Ukrainian pilots on one of Europe’s most capable fighter aircraft. 🇺🇦 Russia’s satellite network and shadow fleet targeted. Zelenskyy imposed sanctions on entities tied to the Rassvet satellite system and 39 shadow-fleet vessels. 🚀 Iskander-M launcher STRUCK. Ukrainian forces hit a Russian ballistic-missile launcher in Kursk region. ✈️ Moscow air travel thrown into chaos again. More than 370 flights were reportedly delayed or canceled amid another UAV threat. 🙏 Oleshky evacuation continues. A temporary ceasefire is allowing civilians to leave the occupied city, with the final evacuation total still being established. Refineries burning. Aircraft being lost. Missile systems being hunted. Moscow airports disrupted. More Patriot missiles moving through the approval pipeline. That is a very bad 24 hours for Russia.

U.S. military ground-based air-defense systems, apparently including Avenger/Stinger systems, have been deployed around Mar-a-Lago at the Secret Service’s request. Officials cite a heightened threat environment but have disclosed no specific threat prompting the move.

500 PAC-3 MSEs approved. $2.1 billion. Allies paying. No U.S. funds. But no delivery timetable, and that is now the number that matters.

BREAKING: The US approves the sale of 2 billion dollars worth of 500 Patriot PAC 3 interceptors to Ukraine paid by Europe. Massive news.

On days like today, it's important to zoom out. No, the AI Revolution is not "over," and the market is not "going to zero." In fact, the Nasdaq 100 is up +11% YTD and nearly +70% since its April 2025 low. Meanwhile, the S&P 500 is currently set to post a blended earnings +30.2% growth rate for Q3 2026. This puts us on track for the third-straight quarter of earnings growth above 25%. And, even after the biggest hack in crypto history, Bitcoin is down less than -5% this week. Disruptive technologies like AI will inevitably bring heightened volatility, polarized positioning, and extreme swings in market sentiment. However, do not let short-term volatility overshadow the broader picture. We are in the midst of the biggest technological revolution in history. Technical corrections are healthy, necessary, and an inevitable part of every bull market. Do not lose sight of the bigger picture.
26
The tech selloff is accelerating. The Nasdaq-100 is now reportedly down about 3.6% intraday, putting it on course for its worst session since early June and erasing an estimated $1.3 trillion in market value today alone. This is no longer just one bad earnings reaction. Investors are repricing the entire AI trade as spending explodes, cash burn rises, and the question gets louder: When do these trillions in AI investment actually start paying for themselves? Reuters says the Nasdaq-100 has already lost more than 5.8% in October, threatening a $2+ trillion monthly wipeout.

Russia got a breather — and used it. During the mid-October lull in Ukrainian refinery strikes, Russian crude throughput jumped roughly 25%, back to about 5 million barrels per day. Then came October 30. Drones hit Rosneft’s Novokuybyshevsk refinery, and Ukrainian drone maker Fire Point claimed the strike. On the very same day, Reuters relayed an unverified Wall Street Journal report that Ukrainian long-range units had been told in mid-October to pause new refinery missions after pressure from the Trump administration. That raises an obvious question: Was Novokuybyshevsk an exception, the end of the reported pause, or proof that the supposed restriction was never as absolute as Moscow hoped? Either way, Russia spent the lull repairing capacity, and Ukraine just demonstrated that repaired infrastructure can be put at risk all over again. Fire Point’s CEO also told Reuters that its non-Starlink workarounds currently deliver only about 15–20% of its full Starlink-enabled capability over Russia. Even under those constraints, Ukraine is still finding ways to reach deep targets. Meanwhile, Kyiv says Neptune missiles destroyed two Su-34s at Marinovka and struck an Iskander-M launcher near Fatezh. And Russia’s pressure campaign is not confined to Ukraine. German prosecutors have charged two Belarusians with preparing an arson attack near Nuremberg on behalf of a foreign government; Der Spiegel identified Russia as the alleged sponsor. Russia got time to repair. The real question now is how much of that repair work Ukraine is about to erase.

Canada + EU should take custody of Russian Central Bank assets in Euroclear and use it to help defend Ukraine. Excellent piece by @cafreeland et al. theglobeandmail.com/opinion/…

Significant new medical update — October 30, 2026, approximately 9:25 a.m. Eastern. Christa Pike has issued her first public statement since surviving Tennessee's September 30 execution attempt. The statement was dictated to her legal team and reported today by Sky News and TMZ. (Sky News) Pike says she continues to experience persistent pain in her arms, hands, throat and elsewhere in her body, along with difficulty speaking. She describes emotional distress and says she has been largely isolated in the prison's medical ward since returning from the hospital on October 10. Although Pike acknowledges that she is getting physically stronger, she emphasizes that recovery does not mean she is well. She also thanks her medical caregivers and acknowledges the suffering of Colleen Slemmer's family. No additional verified court ruling, new execution date, clemency decision, evidence-preservation order or completed official investigative finding was identified. The November 6 hearing remains the next reported litigation milestone. Sources: Sky News, October 30 and TMZ, October 30.

No longer abiding by White House dictates, Ukraine has resumed strikes on Russia's oil industry, in today's dawn hours striking Russia's Novokuybyshevsk oil refinery in Samara Oblast. Likely a record number of strikes on one Russian facility, 11 separate areas of the conplex now burning. This facility is approximately 800 km from Ukraine’s internationally recognized border. Another aging relic of the Stalin era, this complex began operation in 1951. With an annual processing capacity of approximately 8.8 million tonnes of crude oil, it produces gasoline, diesel, aviation fuel and other petroleum products. A brutal five weeks for Russian aviation. Between September 21 and October 30, Russia has lost at least 11 military aircraft in Ukrainian strikes, crashes and other incidents, with additional losses still being investigated. Among the losses: October 29 — Marinovka, Volgograd Oblast: Two Su-34 fighter-bombers destroyed in a Ukrainian Neptune missile strike. October 21 — Kaliningrad Oblast: One Su-30SM fighter crashed. October 15 — Borisoglebsk, Voronezh Oblast: Four Su-34 fighter-bombers destroyed and two more damaged in a Ukrainian strike. October 4 — Khanskaya, Adygea: One Su-34 and one Su-35 destroyed in a Ukrainian operation. October 1 — Voronezh Oblast: One Mi-8 helicopter lost in a crash. September 29 — Amur Oblast: One Tu-95MS strategic bomber crashed. Another aircraft reportedly burned at Akhtubinsk airfield on October 29, although its type and the circumstances remain unclear. The losses span thousands of kilometers, from Kaliningrad on the Baltic Sea to Russia's Far East. Ukraine is destroying Russian aircraft on the ground, while crashes and other incidents are adding to Moscow's aviation losses.

Deep strikes don’t stop for the season. Ukraine’s Liutyi long-range drones are ready for winter, and so are the warriors who launch them.

For 25 years, the internet ran on one basic bargain: Websites created the content. Search engines sent them the traffic. AI is breaking that bargain. Reddit CEO Steve Huffman just said it plainly: “The reality is AI Mode does not drive traffic — not for us and not to anybody as far as I know. It used to be a traffic driver. Now it’s not.” Reddit says Google referrals are now dropping by more than 1 million visits per week. And just one day earlier, Alphabet suffered its worst market-value loss ever, roughly $482 BILLION wiped out in one session, as investors confronted weaker-than-expected Search revenue alongside staggering AI spending. Google Search isn't dead. Far from it. But the model underneath the open web is changing fast. Search engines used to answer: “Where can I find this information?” AI increasingly answers: “Here is the information.” And when the answer appears directly on the search page, there may be no reason to visit the website that produced it. That threatens publishers, forums, review sites, bloggers, news organizations and thousands of businesses whose economics were built around search traffic. This isn't just another Google algorithm update. It may be the beginning of the end of the traffic-driven internet as we've known it. The internet has entered a new era.

Binance has now publicly acknowledged a potential security incident and says its security team is investigating urgently. Binance itself still has not formally confirmed a hack or published a loss figure, and says it has not confirmed any impact to user funds. (teapawt) CZ has gone further, saying it “does look like a hack on Binance” while maintaining that user funds are safe and that he expects them to be fully covered. (FXStreet) The biggest change since we last checked is the scale. Earlier tracking centered around $2.77 billion, but newer on-chain estimates vary substantially: The Block reports roughly $3.55B received by the suspicious wallet, with Coinbase’s Conor Grogan estimating total suspicious outflows could be as high as $5.8B. That higher number is not a confirmed Binance loss and should not be presented as one yet. (The Block) Stablecoin issuers have also frozen very large amounts. Current reporting puts Tether freezes at roughly $971M–$1.57B USDT, depending on which associated addresses are counted, while Circle reportedly froze roughly $823M–$873M USDC. Frozen tokens are immobilized, not recovered money, and these figures do not establish the total theft. (TheStreet) So at 6:08 p.m. ET, October 29, I’d characterize it as: Likely Binance hot-wallet compromise, increasingly strong evidence of a hack, but the total amount stolen is still unresolved. The next major thing to watch for is Binance publishing a technical incident report or a reconciled figure showing what actually left Binance control versus what was frozen, moved internally, or recovered.
59
🚨 BINANCE: LIKELY MULTI-BILLION-DOLLAR HOT-WALLET HACK Billions have moved out of Binance-linked hot wallets, with estimates currently ranging from roughly $2B to $3B+. CZ says “it does look like a hack on Binance” and says user funds are safe. About $971M USDT and $823M USDC — roughly $1.79 BILLION combined — have reportedly been frozen by Tether and Circle. Important: frozen does not mean recovered, and Binance has not yet confirmed the final loss, attack method, or exact amount stolen. Bottom line: this looks far more serious than routine wallet movement, but the final accounting is still developing.

What a heartbreaking week it has been. Sir Patrick Stewart was a friend, a colleague, and a magnificent actor. From the stage to the bridge of the Enterprise, he brought intelligence, grace, and a deep sense of humanity to everything he did. Captain Picard stood for the best of us, and so did the man who played him. I was filled with affection and admiration for him and his work. My heart goes out to Sunny and his family. He will be deeply missed.

Remember Trump’s diesel deal with Putin? Now his administration is reportedly urging American companies to accept Russian diesel cargoes that left port without confirmed buyers. Companies are resisting because of legal and reputational risks. Congress banned Russian energy imports in 2022. Treasury issued a license authorizing this trade, but bipartisan lawmakers warn that it cannot override the statutory ban. To keep the facts straight: there’s no verified evidence that the U.S. government already paid, and no confirmed blanket halt to the shipments. The documented problem is cargoes struggling to find American buyers amid serious legal objections. Announce the deal. Find the buyers later. Argue about the law while the tankers are already at sea. The art of the deal, baby.
