#Zionism and Zionist Jews are Nonnegotiable-
Now is the time to affirm it- Abdul El-Sayed
“Ahead of President Obama’s Detroit rally with Dr. El-Sayed, 230 rabbis from 34 states plus DC sent Dr. El-Sayed an open letter ….
Their request is simple: that when Dr. El-Sayed stands beside President Obama Barack Obama tomorrow in Detroit, he affirm -
1. Jewish safety, including for Zionist Jews, is nonnegotiable — in Michigan and across America.
2. Jewish statehood in Israel is nonnegotiable. The Jewish people’s right to self-determination in our ancestral homeland is not up for debate, even when its politics are.
3. Jews, and Jews alone, define Jewish identity. No political movement may decide for us who counts as an authentic or a “good” or “bad” Jew.
4. Zionist Jews must be welcome as full participants in the Democratic Party and in American political life.
5. Palestinian aspirations for safety, dignity and freedom must be pursued alongside Israel, not in place of it.
Jewish safety means more than physical protection from the next attack. It means rhetoric and policy that recognize how antisemitism takes hold and spreads. But you have called Israelis “bloodthirsty,” echoing the blood libel. You describe American support for Israel as “legalized bribery” and “purchased loyalty,” echoing the oldest conspiracy theories about Jewish money and control. You have said that a Jewish state is inherently illiberal, and suggested that Zionists — like all of us — cannot truly be progressives. Just this week, you told a national audience that Israel takes American money to push our country into wars. When such words reach a national audience, Jews across America feel the consequences — in our inboxes, on our campuses and, even, painfully, within our sanctuaries.”

Muslims must change narratives on #Zionism -
Last evening, I left a gathering with nearly 800 people feeling both inspired and deeply challenged.
I had the privilege of meeting the indomitable @havivrettiggur at a remarkable collaboration between @ValleyBeth Synagogue and the @BelAirChurch
What struck me most was the power of the Judeo-Christian partnership—and the absence of the Muslim community in this conversation.
Haviv spoke about Jewish students being ostracized on American campuses for identifying as Zionists.
Sadly, this is familiar to me. In parts of the Muslim world, anti-Zionism is so deeply rooted that Jews are expected to distance themselves from Zionism to be accepted.
As a Muslim, I believe we must have the courage to examine our own prejudices. Criticizing Israeli policies is one thing; denying the Jewish people’s right to self-determination is another.
The Quran itself, in Surah Al-Ma’idah (5:21), speaks of the Holy Land being assigned to the Children of Israel. Are we willing to engage honestly with our own texts and inherited beliefs?
I invite Muslim women and allies to join the LA Multifaith Women’s Leadership Alliance. It is time to move beyond silence, confront antisemitism within our communities, and build genuine partnerships across faiths.
We cannot demand understanding for ourselves while withholding it from others.

An excellent and well written article by @MelanieLatest.
At the weekend, France turned into a war zone. Some 550,000 people took part in protests against soaring living costs and the wretched state of the country’s schools. What started peacefully escalated into a frenzy of violence, looting and destruction of property in Paris and dozens of other places. More than 2,000 people were arrested and 600 police, firefighters and paramedics injured. And everywhere fluttered the Palestinian flag.
French ministers blamed “𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐫𝐚-𝐥𝐞𝐟𝐭” groups. Other observers identified rioters from the “𝐛𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐛𝐥𝐨𝐜”, a loose international coalition of anarchists and chaos merchants, as well as young immigrant boys wearing Algerian football shirts.
This is what’s been termed the “𝐫𝐞𝐝-𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞”, an unholy collaboration between the 𝒇𝒂𝒓 𝒍𝒆𝒇𝒕, 𝑰𝒔𝒍𝒂𝒎𝒊𝒔𝒕𝒔 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒔𝒖𝒑𝒑𝒐𝒓𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑷𝒂𝒍𝒆𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒊𝒂𝒏 cause. It burst on to our streets immediately after the Hamas-led invasion of Israel on October 7, 2023, and morphed into unending street demonstrations during the subsequent war in Gaza. But the Palestinian cause has become the engine and symbol of a broader revolutionary movement across the West, whose underlying aim is its destruction.
In Britain, students are being urged to walk out of lessons on November 20 as part of a strike across Europe. The Socialist Students group says it’s to protest against capitalism, climate chaos, the housing crisis, the “genocidal war against the Palestinians” and unemployment. This is what’s been termed “the omnicause”. And it’s being synchronised across western Europe.
𝑰𝒕’𝒔 𝒂 𝒘𝒂𝒓 𝒐𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑾𝒆𝒔𝒕 𝒃𝒆𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒘𝒂𝒈𝒆𝒅 𝒃𝒚 𝒈𝒓𝒐𝒖𝒑𝒔 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒅𝒊𝒔𝒑𝒂𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒆 𝒂𝒈𝒆𝒏𝒅𝒂𝒔 𝒕𝒂𝒌𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒂𝒅𝒗𝒂𝒏𝒕𝒂𝒈𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝒂 𝒄𝒊𝒗𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒔𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒊𝒏 𝒅𝒆𝒆𝒑 𝒕𝒓𝒐𝒖𝒃𝒍𝒆.
Those involved are leftists, anarchists, Islamists, assorted grievance artists and useful idiots imagining they’re marching for the “oppressed” of the earth — and with malevolent outside actors stirring the pot.
Fox News reported this month that of 50 groups involved in the month-long French “student” protests, only 15 were actually student groups. The other 35 were a transnational network that included 𝒍𝒂𝒃𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒖𝒏𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒔, 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒎𝒖𝒏𝒊𝒔𝒕 𝒐𝒓 𝒔𝒐𝒄𝒊𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒔𝒕 𝒐𝒓𝒈𝒂𝒏𝒊𝒔𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒔 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒂 𝑷𝒂𝒍𝒆𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒊𝒂𝒏 𝒂𝒅𝒗𝒐𝒄𝒂𝒄𝒚 𝒈𝒓𝒐𝒖𝒑.

California has officially ended child marriage.
Governor Gavin Newsom signed AB 1267 into law, establishing 18 as the
minimum age for marriage with no exceptions. Previously a child of any age, with NO minimum age specified, could be entered into marriage in California.
This historic victory comes after nearly a decade of advocacy by
survivors and organizations committed to protecting children.
California is now the 18th state to ban child marriage, but 32 states
still leave girls vulnerable to this harmful practice.
Today, we celebrate the courage and persistence of the survivors who shared their stories and the advocates we fought alongside—including Unchained At Last and the other members of the California Coalition to End Child Marriage—and everyone who helped make this moment possible.
The work is not over. We will continue fighting until every child in every state is protected.

could there be anything MORE craven about this terrorist? - exploiting the Hindu pilot’s courtesy when the terrorist feigned to offer Fajr prayers- only to launch his axe attack. Appalling on so many levels. THIS is radical Islam and Islamist indoctrination. So thankful Captain Macchchar and all on board were saved by one Hindu’s bravery. Thankyou Bhagwan 🙏🇮🇳 Jai Hind
Absolutely amazing first hand testimony from the heroic Captain Smith Machchar who fought off his co-pilot hijacker:
"It was It it just was a normal flight, and the the co-pilot offered, I mean, he demand, not demanded, but he wanted to pray, which a lot of locals – they do pray, and which is not out of the ordinary. But while he was praying, out of respect, I was just looking at the front and not at the back. And suddenly, after I think I would say about four or five minutes, there was a big blow to the back of my head.
My first thought was that there was a catastrophic damage to the aircraft, and something is not right. But then, after that, the blows kept coming, one after the other, and that's when I realised that it's not the aircraft; it's the other guy who was in the cockpit with me.
I did try to stop him, but because of his initial blows, my vision was almost like nothing, and I was my I was completely blurred out, and at that point, the next thought I, the next feeling that I had was that the aircraft was sharply going down.
So my memory is still in bits and pieces right now, but this is what I remember out of that time, and I did try to, I did try and manage to open the door once, but I think he shut it back close. And at this point, I remember I was lying down on the cockpit floor, and I felt the aircraft and the whooshing sound and people screaming, and as I was telling the ambassador here that I had that one last fight left in me. That you know, call it personal or call it for people, but let's say I did it. That if I don't do it, I'm going to die.
And that's when I pushed against everything. I gave everything that I had, and just went for the door and opened the door. And thankfully, people were waiting to pounce back, took over the control, and the rest is what you know.
…
The door from the inside has a a twist to open mechanism, and from the outside it can be only opened with a code. So my colleagues from outside were trying to put in the code, but the guy was not allowing to open the code, and the only way to open the door was to reach the knob, and like any other knob, just to twist it open, and it opens on its own. So there is no pin, but yes, the door. It was a short, quick twist, but the the point was to reach to that point, to reach to that place, and once I had my hand on the knob, I, I, I guess I, I, I twisted it and I opened it."

Replying to @NYCMayor
@NYCMayor, frankly, I find this greeting difficult to stomach.
You wish us Gut Yontif. You wish us Chag Sukkot Sameach. You pray that a sukkat shalom—a shelter of peace—will spread over New York.
But, Mr. Mayor, your words matter the other 364 days of the year too.
You repeatedly accuse the Jewish state of “genocide,” using inflammatory language that many Jews believe contributes to an atmosphere of hostility toward Israel and, increasingly, toward Jews.
And then Sukkot arrives and you offer us Hebrew greetings and words of peace.
Jews in NYC don't need a holiday greeting from their mayor. They need a mayor who understands that his words have consequences for the Jews he governs.
Mr. Mayor, don’t wish New York’s Jews a “shelter of peace” on Sukkot while using rhetoric the rest of the year that, in my view, contributes to the hostility Jews already face. Peace requires more than a holiday greeting. We need a mayor who doesn’t add to the hatred directed at us. @nycgov @NYCMayorsOffice @ZohranKMamdani @StopAntisemites @_SAFECAMPUS
