We present our work on a new cryptographic primitive: "Two-limb CRT Ring-LWE encryption with exact decryption and public re-randomization" - Journal of Cryptographic Engineering (2026) It enables: - post-quantum encryption - public rerandomisation with constant size ciphertext
Encrypt data. Anyone (without the key) can turn the ciphertext into a fresh-looking one, billions of times. Still decrypts perfectly. Our new mobile-friendly post-quantum primitive is the first step toward making border crossings safer for journalists. link.springer.com/article/10…

Conway’s Game of Life has gliders that travel at 45° and spaceships that move horizontally or vertically. Patterns that travel at other angles are called “oblique spaceships.” By extending rule-switching cellular automata, I’ve discovered a large number of new oblique spaceship structures - with diverse shapes and directions, from nearly horizontal to almost 45°. The nine examples in this video are just a small selection. Explore the discoveries, including motions that may not have been reported before, through interactive demos:

Last week I was called a conspiracy theorist by some for telling them the gov was about to try to censor social media following last week's riots. They are now doing exactly that. You can bet that it WILL happen again ahead of the election, thats their rehearsal for April 2027.

‼️ Researcher Erica Windisch skipped coordinated vulnerability disclosure and published 11 unpatched Tailscale flaws. In her lab, Tailscale SSH race conditions let one hacked device get root on other servers and add a rogue node.

Relying on corrupt institutions's negligence that we trusted, in order to fix the software of things were supposed to own. I guess there is a silver-lining to everything, even gross incompetence in a chain of trust the internet relies on.
Everyone who owns hardware with abominable software (like Sonos players) owes a debt of gratitude to Venkatraman Srinivasan and the rest of the eMudhra gang in Bengaluru, Karnataka. Without their gross negligence, it'd be a lot harder to counterfeit certificates and fix the sw🙏

I interpret the main thrust of this paper as a move from the conventional concept of terms as maps from environments to values t : Γ -> A to a concept of terms as natural transformations between monomial functors t: Γy^Δ -> Ay^B (y is the identity functor, Γ, Δ are sets of environments, A, B are sets of values.) From this starting point, we can go one of three routes: 1. Make certain modifications (e.g., replacing Set with a suitable closed monoidal category) to enforce linearity, as done in the paper. 2. Generalize from monomial to polynomial functors and get dependent types. 3. Do both and (hopefully) unite linear logic and dependent types in one theory. The last one looks the most interesting and challenging to me. ChatGPT found me an abstract along this line of thought. actconf2026.github.io/papers…
Delighted that "Flow Typing: A New Lens on Linearity" has been (conditionally) accepted for POPL 2027. Fantastic work by Sky Wilshaw! tinyurl.com/2j26dyyn

There is a huge market gap for local-only, no telemetry, no bullshit software.
To the trash it goes.

wait, PHP was actually scanned by Anthropic’s Claude Mythos earlier this year. they also had access to OpenAI’s Daybreak Red for validating exploits. the PHP Foundation revealed this JUST yesterday. keeping frontier cyber models in the hands of a selected few doesn’t seem to be working well for the internet. thephp.foundation/blog/2026/…
