Permissionless money needs a permissionless market. Currently there are precisely two permissionless cross-chain exchanges: @THORChain and @Maya_Protocol (currently offline).
And yet despite permissionlessness being the sole raison d'etre of crypto, like clockwork TC is attacked for dutifully providing it. If you don’t believe in permissionless finance, why are you in crypto?
So to all those criticizing THORChain, I ask you, is the existence of a permissionless cross-chain exchange desirable?

This is a real series of events that has taken place in France:
2025–2026: France experiences a wave of kidnappings, attempted kidnappings, and violent physical attacks targeting crypto holders, becoming the world’s leading hotspot for these kinds of crimes.
January 2026: Reports emerge that a French tax official accessed confidential tax records and sold personal information about crypto investors to criminal intermediaries. The data theft itself dates back to 2024.
June 2026: France passes legislation requiring residents to disclose even more information about their crypto accounts and assets, further linking their crypto holdings to their real-world identities.
