AI should help us do more of the work we actually want to do. not siphon our attention. not make us fight uphill to stay focused. working hard on something meaningful is a privilege. we shouldn’t be at the mercy of apps that steal it. look at the tools we use every day. when i open spotlight, i don’t see “built for 2025.” that gap matters. it reminded me to ask a harder question: what have i done to push productivity forward for the people around me? that’s why i built sparkle search. i care about this space. i’m a solo engineer @every obsessed with what productivity on the mac can feel like. one shortcut. your whole mac, commanded. no friction, no detours, no attention tax. just flow. i listen to huberman and nick bare because i’m serious about operating better. but philosophy without tools is posturing. so i’m building the tooling. my goal is simple: when you sit down at your mac, you should be as productive as possible. i’m here to make that the default.
Replying to @SparkleApp
Still, something was missing. “I stopped caring about file organization. I still believed in the mission of helping people reach flow, but I couldn’t see how organizing their files would get me there.”—@poojary_yash That’s when he found the real opportunity: search.

built a better Spotlight. it’s called Sparkle Search. you can search across your files and actually find what you need. i showed it to a friend in big tech. he said, “you’re really going to compete with Apple on this?” me: “it’s broken for me, so i’m fixing it for myself.” we’ve been testing it internally and people are loving it. try it.
Sparkle started as the easiest way to organize your files. But users kept asking: “Where did my file go?” Today, we answer that question. Introducing Sparkle Search

Yes, I'm another engineer posting about not writing code. Haven't typed a function in weeks. Still shipping features daily. I get why it triggers you. Another "AI changed everything" post. But here's what you're missing while you're busy defending traditional coding: I discovered something that changed how I think about building software. Not just faster—fundamentally different. Like switching from hunting and gathering to farming. The relationship with sustenance transforms entirely. I used to pride myself on elegant algorithms, clean syntax, efficient implementations. Now? I describe outcomes to Claude Code and watch solutions emerge. @SparkleApp's duplicate finder that found 158,000 files on my desktop? Didn't write a single line. Directed the entire architecture in plain English. Sure, you can dismiss this as hype. Keep perfecting your for loops while we're shipping products. Keep debugging syntax errors while we're solving user problems. Keep memorizing documentation while we're building the future. The gap widens every day between those orchestrating AI and those still playing every instrument by hand. The music we're making is richer, more complex, more ambitious than anything we could play solo. You can keep scrolling past these posts, rolling your eyes at the "lazy developers." But while you're protecting your craft, we're redefining it. The future belongs to those who learned to conduct.

facts → @SparkleApp now de-dupes for you. Hard to believe I had 12k duplicates on my machine.

Sparkle GM @poojary_yash just found 158,000 duplicate files on his desktop. The plot twist? He built the tool that found them without coding a single line himself. This is what happens when you stop writing code and start directing it 🧵

Quote-tweet this with the weirdest file name lurking in your Downloads folder. We're celebrating @SparkleApp's new Smart Duplicate Detection feature—the one that finally deals with "FINAL_v17_REALLYFINAL.pdf" and its seventeen cousins. Most unhinged filenames win 1 year of Every + limited-edition swag 👀

There’s a internal joke about the @SparkleApp curse It’s a great app, people love it but it’s a pain to work with as a developer Partly due to Electron being trash but also partly because it was vibe coded in an era before vibe coding @poojary_yash just broke the Sparkle curse with this brand new V2 It’s fast and beautiful, check it out!
It looked too easy: build with AI. Drop a slick demo. Wake up to $100K ARR. @poojary_yash wanted to see what happens when you actually rebuild a real product that way. So he gave himself 2 weeks—and rebuilt @SparkleApp from scratch. This is the story 💻

For the first time ever I got to work on the design of a MacOS app, and let me just say, @poojary_yash took it to the next level. We are relaunching @SparkleApp with a fresh coat of paint, and more complete user experience.
last few months have been wild: > joined @every > vibe-coded an *entire app* in 14 days > went from being an Every reader to an Every writer > working heads down building Mac’s go-to organization app

I've used @SparkleApp for a year. Looking back on it, V1 kinda sucked. But I had no idea until @poojary_yash rebuilt it in 14 days –– moving from Electron (🤮) to Swift (🚀). Sparkle v2 is killer and is the foundation for us to build so many great features. Organization is over.

This book (commented) is referring to products built by man vs machine but it's equally as applicable for products built that leverage strictly code vs code + LLMS. That's why products built before the advent of LLMs (and now incorporate them) will never really be able to compete with products designed around LLMs from the beginning. I feel this every day while building @TrySpiral, @coracomputer, and @SparkleApp inside of @every...
