Ending military aid is not enough. We need to end U.S. taxpayer funding for Israel’s war crimes, a full arms embargo, and the Palestinian right of return.

Yes and it’s important to understand why this lie persist: 89-7 is presented as a “divide” among Dems because accurately describing what’s going on—a handful of billionaires and elite liberal institutions are propping up a terminal, illiberal ideology—is too awkward to discuss.

There’s something depressing about watching Abdul El-Sayed’s campaign, a political moment that should represent a break from the Democratic Party’s status quo, still reproduce some of its most troubling contradictions on Palestine.
Abdul called out Israel’s genocide, challenged Zionism, and rejected continued American military support. These are meaningful departures from the party establishment. Yet he’s also repeatedly condemned acts of Palestinian armed resistance while explicitly assuring Zionist Democrats that there’s room for them in the party’s big tent.
Zionism, an ideology used to justify the dispossession of Palestinians and a state carrying out genocide, is accommodated as a legitimate political disagreement within the Democratic Party. Yet Palestinian resistance to that dispossession and oppression is treated as something that must be continually condemned and disavowed. These are not morally equivalent positions.
I’m not saying El-Sayed must endorse every act of Palestinian resistance. I just don’t think American politicians, particularly those who claim to support Palestine, should presume the moral authority to condemn the resistance of a people whose oppression their own government funds and enables, while simultaneously reassuring Zionists of their political legitimacy.
It’s possible to recognize the significance of El-Sayed’s candidacy and the pressure he’s resisted without abandoning criticism of the concessions he’s made. Political pragmatism doesn’t justify surrendering principles in the name of winning, especially when I don’t think he even needs to do that to win. The Democratic Party needs people like him and the other insurgents more than he needs them.
Whatever happens tomorrow, electoral victory cannot be the measure of political progress especially if it’s built on the principles that were abandoned along the way.

I’m sorry, but if you’re a former Stevens staffer you don’t get any credit for giving your little “oh, yeah, turns out she was vindictive and emotionally unwell the whole time actually” leaks now. You were trying make this person a US Senator.
Haley Stevens had a “bizarre obsession” with Mallory McMorrow, per a source familiar with the inner workings of Stevens’ Senate campaign:
“Nearly every thing Mallory said or did caused some sort of break down from Haley…Even after Mallory dropped out of the race, she and her fiance wanted to continue to attack McMorrow”
“On the day Mallory dropped out, Haley refused to call her. Instead, staff drafted a text for Haley to send to her. Haley still refused to send it, despite telling staff she was going to, and only sent it after a journalist from Politico reported that Haley had not reached out to Mallory yet.”
“There was a video that Haley attempted to film saying that Mallory had run a great race and encouraging Mallory’s supporters to vote for her, which ended up being scrapped because Haley sounded so insincere when praising McMorrow and her campaign.”

❤️🇵🇸 Amid the destruction… Project Mohammed is rebuilding hope with the help of the beautiful people of Gaza!
👉 For immediate contribution: chuffed.org/project/help-the……
🏕️ Today, Project Muhmmed set up a tent for a displaced family in Gaza, with the help of the people of Gaza themselves. We also provided the family with some food to help ease their daily struggle. Despite everything they have lost, the beautiful people of Gaza still carry kindness, love, and solidarity in their hearts.
💔 Look at the unimaginable scale of destruction surrounding us! Destroyed homes, entire neighborhoods reduced to rubble, and families who have lost everything — even the shelter that once protected their children from the cold and rain.
❤️ Amid all this devastation, look at the beauty and incredible spirit of the people of Gaza. Watch how they help us with their own hands, raising the tent poles and securing the ropes, despite their own suffering and incredibly difficult circumstances.
🏕️ This is not just a tent. It is a shelter for a family that has lost its home, and a chance for their children to finally have a place where they can feel protected.
💔 One tent costs $870. For a family sleeping among the ruins, that amount can mean the difference between facing the winter cold without shelter and having a place to sleep, rest, and protect their children.
🍞 Alongside providing tents, we are also working to deliver food to displaced families who are struggling to meet their most basic needs.
The beautiful people of Gaza deserve life, safety, food, and dignity.
🙏 Please help us build more tents and provide food for families living among the rubble, especially as winter approaches.
❤️ Together, we will not leave the families of Gaza alone amid this destruction. 🇵🇸
❤️ All our love and appreciation to our dear friends who continue standing beside the people of Gaza:
❤️ William Menaker — @willmenaker
❤️ Eyup Lovely — @eyuplovely
❤️ Felix — @ByYourLogic
❤️ Claire — @ZeroSuitCamus
🚨 Please share this video and donate whatever you can!
🏕️ $870 can provide one tent for a displaced family.
❤️ Every donation, whether big or small, brings us closer to providing shelter and food for more families. Every share helps us reach people who can make a difference.
Help us turn the rubble into a place of hope, one tent and one family at a time. ❤️🇵🇸

Hi @jonlovett — Which specific claim in this sequence of events touched on in the ad is “antisemitic”:
1 — Marco Rubio, Pete Hegseth, Donald Trump, and several members of Congress say in the days after the Iran War begins that they struck Iran because Iran was going to strike Israel. Netanyahu famously met with the president and his inner circle in the situation room to pitch them on the war he has been advocating for over the last 40 years. This is reported in various outlets including NYT. It has also been reported that the intelligence they provided us about Iran's ICBM and nuclear capabilities was knowingly false.
2 — Upon the war beginning, Iran took control over the Strait of Hormuz, which they had not previously controlled, disrupting the supply chain.
3 — This development led to rising prices across the board, including at the grocery store. It has already been widely reported that one of those groceries which has seen a dramatic increase is bananas, the fruit referenced in that ad.
Therefore, using inductive reasoning, did Israel pushing us to join them in the war against Iran and lying directly to our leaders in order to facilitate that involvement not literally lead to higher banana prices less than a year later?
The ad is anti-Semitic. (Also pretty glib and tasteless, but whatever!) I'm not lying or paid to say this. I don't equate being anti-Israel with being anti-Semitic. but also not saying the word "Jewish" isn't the one weird trick you want it to be.
Only good that can come from you promoting yourself at the expense of Abdul's campaign in the final days of an election where the stakes are so high is that you've created an opportunity for Abdul to denounce the ad and demonstrate his commitment to opposing anti-Semitism on the left and representing Jewish voters in Michigan as a Senator.

Patrick Stewart was once filmed dancing and singing on the bridge of the USS Enterprise-D in 1991 as a birthday surprise for Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry. Though never intended for public release, a copy of the clip eventually surfaced as a bonus feature on a DVD.
Rest in peace 🙏

Haley Steven’s: DONT UNFAIRLY DEMONIZE ISRAEL
Israelis:
This type of fearmongering about Israel is wrong. It is not a winning strategy for any state. It does nothing to help Michigan Democrats win up and down the ballot in eight days. Do we need to lower costs by building more homes, securing people’s health care, and creating a fairer federal tax code? Yes, we do!! How we do so is not by blaming the high costs of our goods on the only Jewish homeland in the world. I want to see Democrats succeed at every level, and that means keeping our focus on lowering costs for Michigan families and reining in this out-of-control President.

“I’m grieving the deaths of two Nazi soldiers killed today..”
I’m grieving the deaths of the two Israeli soldiers killed in Hebron today, and praying for the full & speedy recovery of those who were injured.
I’ve spoken out loudly this week against Israel’s occupation of the West Bank, which imposes violence on a daily basis, and I will continue to do so. But violence is not the path to ending it — or to achieving safety, freedom, and peace for both Palestinians and Israelis.
And neither is collective punishment or ethnic cleansing of an entire neighborhood, or punishing millions of people for the criminal act of two, which Netanyahu has promised to enact in response.
I’ve seen a lot this week and I’ll have more to say about in the coming days (I’m on my way home shortly). There is a path to ending this excruciating cycle of violence. It starts by insisting that every life is sacred, that everyone is created in God’s image.
For now: Shabbat Shalom, to everyone who believes in the hard work of making peace & justice a reality, for everyone.

The new “progressive” Democratic position—that Israel is committing genocide in Gaza and enforcing apartheid in the West Bank, where settler terrorists run rampant with government and military support, yet we shouldn’t impose an arms embargo or support the Palestinians’ right to resistance—is completely incoherent and indefensible.
