Marvin Harrison Jr came into the NFL without an agent. A few weeks ago, he hired Todd France and Tory Dandy of Athletes First to help navigate a trade. Now, he’s on the Texans.
In the Marvin Harrison Jr sweepstakes, the #Texans are a team to watch. Nothing is done, and today's results could change things. A look at where it stands 👇👇👇

#NIL agents & P4 GMs don't have to be friends, but they do need a level of respect to get the job done, especially during pressure-packed negotiations. Which NIL advisors have earned the most respect from big-school GMs? We asked. Here's what they told us succeedinfootball.com/2026/1…

Assuming these rulings from the District of Colorado on the Class of 2022 getting an extra year of eligibility stick, what does it mean for athletes who have signed pro contracts, received benefits from an agent, and/or were drafted? The decision doesn't touch the NCAA's separate rules. So, an athlete could have his/her 5th season restored and still be barred from playing. The NCAA will likely take a firm position that an athlete loses eligibility if he signs a contract or commitment of any kind to play professionally in that sport. The NCAA would probably also be concerned if, for instance, the athlete received benefits from an agent beyond permitted representation, although that may not result in permanent ineligibility. Being drafted, standing alone, shouldn't be grounds to void eligibility (yet, it may give the pro team that drafted the player certain rights that need to be analyzed). But if a contract was signed or money exchanged, that changes the calculation. The biggest problem for athletes and their agents is that the decision is silent on these issues. As such, tread with caution. Conduct as much diligence as possible on the NCAA rules. Consult with the applicable players' association. Proceed with an understanding that the Colorado class action rulings may not withstand appellate challenges.
The orders out of the District of Colorado to grant preliminary injunctive relief and certify the class of 2022 athletes are the 1st to decide eligibility on the 5-in-5 rules on a federal antitrust theory. On its face, this decision would cover all such athletes. It's a monumental ruling if it sticks. That's a big IF. Should all athletes who fall within the defined class take comfort in relying on the ruling to be eligible to compete next season? NO. Given the stakes, the NCAA will almost certainly move for a stay or seek interlocutory review of the class certification before this class definition does anyone outside the named plaintiffs any practical good. The NCAA will also appeal, and it has successfully appealed injunctions in other matters that were based on antitrust theory. If you're an athlete who falls within the class and wants more clarity surrounding your eligibility, then follow through with any plans you may have to litigate against the NCAA. Passive membership in what could be a temporary class may not get you through or even to the start of the season.

🚨DEADLINE APPROACHING: Athlete agents currently representing student-athletes in Louisiana are reminded that registration is required under state law no later than August 1, 2026. An existing representation agreement does not exempt an agent from this requirement. Any athlete agent who is not registered by that date must immediately cease all activity as an athlete agent in this state until registration is complete. This applies to both professional representation of athletes and those representing athletes for NIL deals. #lalege nil.ag.louisiana.gov/

LIFT Sports Management dominated the 2026 NBA Draft, securing 5 first-round picks (more than any other agency). Nate Ament, Ebuka Okorie, Labaron Philon Jr., Jayden Quaintance, and Joshua Jefferson. From landing Paolo Banchero to building this class in a few short years, a boutique agency is giving fight to the big boys.

2 days ago, the NFLPA and NBPA said they support the Protect College Sports Act. Today, through the AFL-CIO, the unions say the bill silences college athletes' voices on the job, undermines their right to collective bargaining, jeopardizes fair compensation, and stops states from passing laws that would protect and advance their rights. That's a big change within 48 hours.. xitter.cf/achristovichh/status/2…
The AFL-CIO Sports Council, a coalition of leaders in college sports leagues, comes out against the Protect College Sports Act, according to a statement shared by @FOS:

The United Steelworkers and NFLPA aren’t used to taking differing positions on legislative agendas. Then again, neither the NFLPA nor any union should ever be supporting any bill that doesn’t protect the best interests of athletes (the labor). Wild times..
A day after the NFLPA and NBAPA issued a letter of support for the Protect College Sports Act, the United Steelworkers submitted a letter to lawmakers over "concerns" around the legislation.

This is shocking to me. Players unions supporting legislation that would diminish athletes’ rights and cap their earning power. I note neither the MLBPA nor NHLPA joined. Really bad look for the NFLPA and NBPA.
The NFLPA and NBAPA sent a letter to lawmakers today supportive of the Protect College Sports Act. The NFL also released a statement in support of the Act.

Nick Saban testified that you don't need to be licensed to represent college athletes. He's wrong. The majority of states maintain mandatory registration of anyone who recruits, solicits, or represents athletes, including in connection with #NIL. Additionally, the federal Sports Agent Responsibility and Trust Act (SPARTA) imposes nationwide disclosure obligations whenever an agent enters or attempts to enter a contract with athletes. The FTC is supposed to enforce that law. Could the system be better? Sure. Pro players' associations regulate athlete agents. But that requires unionization.
