First, make the product exist, and make it perfect as you sell it out -that's what I believe.
Cybercrime is a people problem first. In Uganda most of it starts with one rushed click on a fake mobile money or bank message. Teach your family the pause before the tap.
Cybercrime has become one of the most crucial risks that organisations and individuals face in their daily lives. It can no longer be labelled simply as a technical problem.
With the increasing use of AI, we are also seeing growing challenges such as deepfakes and phishing attacks through emails, websites and other platforms. The World Economic Forum ranks cybersecurity among the top three biggest risks for businesses.
Also a study by @milimatechug Security and @fsdsom revealed that only 2% of cybercrime in Uganda is reported. This highlights the gap and the need to have these conversations.
We all have a responsibility to ensure that our institutions are secure. These conversations will continue throughout the day as we celebrate #CybersecurityAwarenessMonth.

Cyber resilience in the AI era starts with people who can read the risk, so Ugandan teams should be in these rooms too.
Yesterday, Deloitte hosted the first ever Africa-Wide CISO Roundtable, themed "Securing the Future: Building Cyber Resilience in an an AI-Driven World." This landmark event convened leading cybersecurity experts and decision-makers from across the continent, drawing participants from Kenya, Ethiopia, Zambia, Ghana, Nigeria, and South Africa.
The roundtable served as a unique and invaluable platform for exchanging diverse perspectives on the evolving cybersecurity landscape, addressing both the opportunities and challenges organisations face in an AI-driven era. The discussions covered various critical topics, including balancing security with AI innovation, strengthening cyber resilience and recovery strategies, establishing robust AI governance frameworks, and fostering enhanced cross-border collaboration.
We extend our sincere gratitude to all our speakers and panellists for their engaging conversations and invaluable insights, which significantly enriched the discourse. It was a privilege to host this important dialogue, bringing together such diverse expertise as we collectively strive towards a more secure and resilient digital future for Africa.

Over 2,100 students graduated at Nkumba University yesterday. The theme: "Thriving in a World of Artificial Intelligence."
AI can help with your CV. It can't sit the interview for you.
Use the tools. Keep building the skill underneath.
Congratulations, graduates.
353 children aged 6 to 12 took part in the enjuba National Spelling Bee in Kampala. One attempt per word. One wrong letter and you're out.
Computers treat us the same way. One wrong letter breaks a password, a command, or lands you on a fake website.
Well done to every speller.
Good morning from Kampala.
Sunday is for slowing down. Church, family, a proper breakfast, a call to someone you've been meaning to check on.
Take the rest seriously. Monday will still be there, and you'll handle it better.
Have a blessed Sunday.

KCCA is replacing Kibuye roundabout with traffic lights as Queens Way goes six lanes.
A traffic light is a small computer at a junction. Before it goes live, ask:
What happens when power goes off?
Who gets alerted when it fails?
How fast does someone come to fix it?
Uganda plans a digital system by December to track music played in bars, radio and TV so artists get royalties.
Listening tech is the easy part. The hard part is clean data: who owns each song, and which venues play it.
Let artists see their own plays. No visibility, no trust.
Good morning from Kampala.
Tuesday never gets the hype Monday and Friday get. That's what makes it a good day for quiet, real work.
Pick the one task you've been dodging since last week and give it your first hour.
Have a good one, people.
Champions in Kigali with a clean sheet and a shootout win. This is the kind of youth structure Uganda should keep funding, not just celebrate for one night.

Before you shut the laptop tonight, write tomorrow's first 30 minutes on a sticky note.
Not the whole week. Just the next clear step. A lab to finish, a message to send, one bug to kill.
Monday is done. Make Tuesday start easier for morning-you.
