The planning for this Camping and Hiking Event is underway. I will be making a PDF available soon that will outline the event, expectations, responsibilities, and other important information for anyone considering participating.
I want to make something very clear from the beginning. This is neither a nonprofit nor a for-profit event. It is a privately organized gathering being put together by me, a cancer patient who is dealing with medical limitations of my own. My intention is simply to bring together fellow cancer patients and survivors who would like to spend a few days outdoors, hiking, camping, and enjoying the company of others who understand some of life's challenges.
There are NO registration fees, participation fees, or required financial contributions. Every participant is responsible for their own personal needs, including food, water, camping equipment, medications, transportation, and any other necessary supplies. Participation is voluntary, and everyone will be expected to come prepared to take care of their own individual needs.
The upcoming PDF will provide additional details and clearly outline the terms, expectations, and individual responsibilities associated with participating.
One important warning: If you see anyone soliciting, collecting, or requesting money on behalf of this event, DO NOT SEND THEM ANY MONEY. I have not authorized anyone to collect funds, donations, registration fees, or contributions for this gathering.
I want this event to remain what it was intended to be from the very beginning: a private gathering, built around fellowship, the outdoors, and people coming together for a few days away from the everyday battles we face.

The only two things I don't carry with me that I do have friends of mine who use larger bags and so forth they carry little small foldable chairs that just are basic for you to sit on in a very small foldable table that's no bigger than the chair that fits in there backpacking rigs

Being a Veteran. Packing things tightly is something that you learn. The cookware and dishes aren't very big. Less that the size of a house hold plate, and no taller than 7" all stacked together.

Jackson, Mississippi police knew that there were seven thugs strapped up outside of the Hideaway hours before the mass shooting took place and did nothing to prevent it !!

Please take a moment to read this and say a prayer for Mrs. Cathy.
I was talking with a friend of mine this evening we were talking about our camp gear hiking gear / bug out gear.
I replaced my ruck, tent, and sleeping bag in January of last year. Unfortunately due to the fact that my health started to decline and I was diagnosed with cancer July of last year I have not been able to make any camping trips or hiking trips.
I'm just sharing a picture of what I normally carry with me for a three to five day camping and hiking trip when I was doing it. In total this is 44 and 1/2 lb that includes extra clothes towels washcloth medical supplies hatchet knives etc, emergency food for 5 days 6 bottles of water water treatment tablets a closable cup for water cooking equipment that is compact and works absolutely amazing three small bottles of propane that go to my cooking little stove for camping is very extremely compact and weighs less than a pound total and hygiene stuff and so on.
If you ever put one of these together you got to understand what I was doing this I was well over 185 lb. I recommend that you not do not or attempt to not exceed 30% of your body weight that's my recommendation and that's what I've done with this setup and this is all done by trial and error this is what works for me it may not work for you so you have to experiment with it and go with the backpack that best suits you and that you can comfortably carry I chose this particular ruck simply because it's compact and I do carry a little bit of an oversized sleeping bag but it's comfortable and it works for me especially when I got to sit down I don't roll backwards so have fun putting one together guys I highly recommend y'all doing it and test it out walk down your block walk around the corner and see how it carries for you and make adjustments from there sleep out in your backyard if you have to just for a night or two and test all of the equipment everything.
I would recommend doing one of these for each member of your family you never know when a disaster is going to happen or if y'all just decide to go camping or whatever the case may be the only thing you have to do is walk in pick it up put it on your back and go there's no packing there's no nothing but I would double check everything at least a couple of times a year just to make sure.
